Motor issue with Dillon Vibe Tumbler

WOW!!

I just got my converted CV500 back from Dillon!

WOW!!

They did some major modifications, and sent me my CV500 base and bowl, but with a CV750 motor and springs to make it shake!

WOW!!

This thing is amazing. It moves the media and brass like there's no tomorrow. I'm running a test batch, and am guessing that I will get six hour results in 2-3 hours!

Did I say WOW?

P.S. The initial warranty issue with the burned out bearings would have been covered free, but since I asked about the "upgrade" they charged me a mere $40 for the better motor/springs/modifications to make it all work. That's cheaper than if I went to Grainger, and just bought a motor.

Dillon is the bestest.

I am still waiting for delivery of the CV2001 model.

Got my CV2001 in today! Flipped it over, and notice that the motor that they put on my modded CV500 is the exact same! Which explains why the CV500 now is weirdly noisy, and bounces the bowl like crazy. Not the smooth vibration that it used to be, nor the smooth vibration that the CV2001 is.

So, I look again, and notice that the CV500 used to have a spinning zinc wheel with an integral fan, off balanced for the vibration. Now, the CV 500 has the same offset bar that the CV2001 has. Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much off balanced for the smaller bowl.

So, I have begun the process of drilling out some of the heavy end of the bar (on the CV500) to make it less offset while it's spinning. It should smoothen out the vibration, make it less noisy, and be less brutal on the bearings.

I ran a full batch of 5.56 in the CV2001, and a full batch of 9mm in the CV500, and went off to look for a new refrigerator.

By the time I got back, I had an amazing amount of "jewelry polished" brass all done!

I can't recall who else had their CV500 modded by Dillon with the bigger motor, but wonder if you have thought about reducing the mass of the heavy end of the balance bar.
