this colt .45 new frontier is my favorite in my collection. it was my great grand fathers passed down from generation to generation. other that the chip in the barrel near the word colt this revolver is in excellent condition. i was offered $12,000 for it and i refused. its a little on the sentimental side.

Make sure there is some written history to accompany that pistol. The pistol is very cool, but I bet the story is just as cool.

I haven't got a clue how old the gun in the picture is but if that gun was made in 1961 or later someone made a mistake not taking $12,000 for it. Somehow I think great granddad would have understood. The serial number should make it easy to identify a late model revolver. [smile]

Nice gun, inny.
Good for you, deciding that some things are worth more than money.
I hope that you will someday have children that you can pass this on to.

why is it a mistake, if i sold it , yea ide have 12,000 but ide spend it. then ide have no gun or money

btw that 1961 you see is really 1871, but it is only the patent date not the date of the gun

Nope, sorry... his great granddad might have understood, since he bought it and to him, it may have been just a gun that he got at the store, but to the original poster it was his GREAT GRANDFATHER'S GUN.

I understand him completely. I have an Accutron SpaceView watch that was my father's - he bought it at a garage sale and fixed it up, but to me, it'll always be MY FATHER'S WATCH. And no, I won't take $12,000 for it, either. Don't waste your time asking. [wink]

I'll give you $12,000 and fifty cents.

Mark, you don't HAVE enough money to buy it from me... In fact, you couldn't even steal enough; it's value transcends mere dollars.
