Need Inspiration

Have you explored high end stuff? Everything you have is $300-$1000 territory. Try for an Atlas or a Laugo: both will make you forget about all other guns.

I know I opened myself to criticism! What is your favorite then? I love the model 29, and am highly competent with the gen 2 19
More importantly
Whatever you do, DO NOT, start buying vintage Milsurp handguns! Next thing you know your piling up Lugers, Mausers, Broomhandles, Webleys, Enfields, Takarovs, Maks, oh my!!!

😉
I had an old .380 Imez Makarov, loved it. Bought it off a desperate friend in 1995, and gave it back free after 25 years, bc why not

Pic illustrated current handgun inventory.

Not pictured is Shield 9mm and P22 which sucks.

Current brands are SW, Glock, Ruger, Beretta.

What am I missing for other brands and why?
Steyr Arms M9-A2 It is not as well known as other striker fired handguns, but damn if it isn't a good shooter.

A BFR
A desert Eagle
Single action revolver
Obrez
Contender / encore in non fag calibers such as 45/70, 460, 458 ... with a handgun barrel.

Is there a discontinued P239 that was forgotten in the mix?
That is actually how I ended up with the Sig TTT. I went to the gun store to buy the 239 that I saw the week before and it was sold, so I ended up with the 1911 Sig, and to be honest, it will be the next gun I sell. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice gun, and stupid accurate, but I just don't feel right owning a 1911 with an external extractor that will not fit in a traditional 1911 holster because it is just a little different. I haven't shot the thing in years

CZ. Pick your flavor
Why? More like, why not?
cz is like an 'initial quality' car segment. no longer junk, but not yet a true luxury.
yet it may be something that one will truly like, so it is worth to try quite a bit from that lineup.
including 10mm tanfoglios, if desired.

Nighthawk - flex on the poors
If you have the $$, go for it. There are plenty of high end firearms out there IF you have/want to spend the funds. I'd love to get a high end 2011 at some point.
Those green plugs become active when one of the two main plugs is used. So if your TV is plugged into one of the main ones and your DVD player is plugged into one of the green ones, when you turn the TV, the DVD player would be able to be turned on.
Sounds like a solution looking for a problem to me. Won't stop you needing to use the control for both. Especially since if you actually power things off when you're done using them, or they go into low power mode, the 'feature' isn't needed.

CZ has some really nice models. Luxury to me!

"I've had these for years. Some for over 40 years. Some for over a half a years."
Well... most of them are black.. so they all look the same. [laugh]
Especially Sigs! Non shooters can't tell the difference between a 226-220-229.
Then... 365-365xl-322! There is six right there that for all intents and purposes, my wife would think were 2 guns..

I'm kidding of course. I bet she knows about how many. And obviously revolvers and long guns look very different, but... I have 4 lever action rifles and most non gun folks might not be able to tell the difference between a Marlin 336 and a Winchester 94. Most AR's are similar, but shotguns are pretty distinct. An M4 looks way different that a Mossy pump with wood furniture and my bolt action rifles don't look alike.

I'm not worried about the police! If I were to drag them all out I would have to clear off the dining room table and my wife would have a heart attack!
If I did it when she wasn't home and someone showed her the picture someday.... she would have a stroke.
LOL

Whenever she sees a new gun and asks "Is that a new gun?" I say "nah... I've had this thing forever."
My wife says the same thing about antiques and primitive style decorations that she buys. We both look sideways at each other when either of us pulls out that excuse.

What are the green plugs for on the smart strip? They never seem to work. Judging by your picture, you don't know either
They are switched with the other plugs
So when you turn on your TV and draw power from the non green plug it activates the green plugs (think cable box DVD player etc)
So they aren’t drawing when the TV is off

OP needs some SIG in his life IMHO
Find yourself a 2022 I love my poor man’s Sig

If you want to build the best 80s collection EVER you definitely need an HK P7

A Colt Python would fit nicely with the theme too.

I agree that everyone should try an Sig 226 at some point. Though, if you want an old school Sig, IMO, nothing currently beats the 210 for sheer ergos, accuracy, and shootability.

A CZ 75 is also on the must try list IMO. Maybe even above the 226. I dint have a 226 anymore, but I kept the 75. Ergonomically it it one of the greats.

If you want to bring your collection into the 21st century, you have a world of options. Starting with HK, a VP9 feels like an extension of your hand, and the trigger will make your Glock feel like moving a pumice stone. Ditto for a Walther PDP variant, or save a couple hundred and buy one of Canik’s 89.7% as good as a Walther versions.

For me, the two glaring holes in your collection are a good .22 auto, and a compact 9mm carry gun.

For a .22 autoloader, I prefer the Ruger 22/45 platform, because it has the familiar 1911 grip profile. Mine is the mk3, but if I was buying new, I’d buy the mk4. Or my current favorite, the Taurus TX22 competition. It’s just fun to shoot.

The compact carry 9mm field is super crowded, but the pack leader seems to be the Sig 365. There are a million variations, but they are all pretty similar. I don’t personally like the 365 trigger, so it’s a pass for me, even though the half a dozen or so I’ve shot have put holes where I wanted them. Then there’s the Glock 43x, which I think is a gem of a pistol. Springfield hellcat gets it done, and is one of the better deals in the group. They sell a pack with 5 mags and a dot far cheaper than any Sig packages. And I like the Hellcat trigger better. I currently carry a Canik MC9, which I really like and shoot well, but in my circle of friends I seem to be the only one that likes it, lol. Whatever you buy in this category, leave some budget for a light, a decent optic, and a quality appendix holster, if you really want to roll like an operator!
