NES Road Trip - Texas Helicopter Hog Hunt

Don't remember my old name huh? 🤣
Totally forgot it.

I was dumb enough to use my first name when Admin first started this website, thought it was going to only be like the same 20 original people and seemed kinda stupid to make up a name lol

The cost of this trip is more expensive than a week in Costa Rica riding dirtbikes every day.

But, diff strokes and all :)

Well, after the side bets; first hog, biggest hog, most hogs, it can get expensive. [cheers]

Most places make you butcher and take them home.

Also be careful of weight limits. Some helicopters only have a 400lb limit.
They certainly don't pick them up....Im pretty sure of it.....if they do good on them,

You have to understand these things are like a cockroach to most of the ranchers. Can't kill them all, and can't kill enough of them......

Would I love to see them get them and feed them to the needy people down there, sure, but who's gonna pay the cost of transportation to get them, gutting the nasty fxckers, keeping them cold enough, butchering, wrapping and freezing.

So never actually seen one. If they are that nasty is the meat any good? I’ve had wild boar many times and I really like it but it has a more gamey flavor then a normal pig. Is it like that?

Every video I've seen they load up a truck and go get them... no point killing one pest and leaving it to rot so you can attract others

The guides down here make a decent living on pigs...but they hate dealing with cleaning them. Covered with mud,Full of ticks and diseases. Usually though they can take them to a cleaning station and wash the shit out of them before they dump guts.

Boar backstraps are about the only thing you could steak out into pork chops, but we grind most of it to sausage and ground pork.

But it cost like $250 a pig, so killed a few and Id rather just buy pork at the store for less really. I have one more hunt possibly if the guys want to go, in March then Im done. This fall, I will probably will spend my money going up to SC or somewhere else to hunt. Honestly been looking out West and if things go well will spend some coin to do that once in lifetime elk hunt.

I'll still bowhunt in MA, my buddy who comes down here has a great spot now for me there when I go up.
