I really lucked out on this one.

I went to the gun store with my dad this afternoon for shits and giggles. As I walked through the door, I noticed this AR-15 sitting up on the rack, and it's exactly like the one I ordered( except made by another company). Not only was it identical to the one I ordered, but it was $165 cheaper. So the wife of the owner cancelled my back order with Stag Arms, and then I put the money they refunded toward this Olympic Arms AR. And since I saved so much money, I decided to buy 120 rounds of quality Federal .223 for good measure. So after everything was said and done, I walked away with a new gun, 120 rounds of ammo, and an extra $90 in my checking account. Not bad for a days work.

Nice.

I like the simple, original A2 look. I picked one up not long ago that I haven't done anything with yet. I'll be returning the stocks to original configuration, (it's got realtree camo stocks and a rubber grip now) replacing all the followers in the 30-round mags I have with Magpuls, and probably buying a spring kit from Wolff.

Range report when you get the chance!

NO....I am not the biggest fan of Olympic. Since this is fait accompli, I would suggest heading over to m4carbine.net and educating yourself in proper maintenance and trouble shooting of an AR.
Personally, if I lived in a free state, I would get either Colt, Daniel Defense or LMT with a few other makers. More expensive? Yes. Prove reliable? Yes.

I guess i'm not a true operator then.[rolleyes]

I've also shot Stag rifles, DPMS, and Colts and they all look and feel the same.

My other AR is also an Olympic and has been running fine for almost 4 years now.

Congrats on the purchase and glad you are happy with it. They might not be the top of the line but as long as it fires and you are happy that is all that matters man. Good luck. And ignore the if I lived in a free staters. Their rifles are nuetered(if allowed at all).[crying] [wink] Oh and ignore M4crabine.net the real men hang out at ar15.com.[smile]

ETA: I thought the internet made us all operators.
