Daisy, welcome aboard.

Please do post and contribute . . . questions or answers.

You'll find it a lot more congenial here than ARfcom, and we're mostly local folks.

Read up and hope you'll join us at AFS for their shoot in August (27th as planned now).

I have a pretty warped sense of humor. lol

Oh, good... everyone here is too straight-laced; maybe you can loosen them up! [tongue firmly in cheek]

Welcome aboard, Daisy!

Hey all. Thought I would check in.

I like the idea of a NE gun forum. Anyone here a member of Scarborough fish and game? Thinkin' on joining.

I enjoy all kinds of shooting, but mostly long range stuff. Just got back from Rifles Only in Texas banging steel at 1k. Good times! :D

Hutch,

Welcome. I'm a member over at SF&G, we don't have 1K yards over there, but we do currently have a 300 meter range that we're hoping to expand to 500 or 600.

Let me know if you've got any questions about the club.

Welcome Hutch, enjoy your stay here!

1K - damn I don't think that these old eyes can even see that far! :(

Hello Daisy.... Hello Hutch

Kind of new here too but glad to see some new faces (so Im not the new face anymore :) )

Welcome aboard, Hutch! (obligatory Starsky & Hutch joke omitted)

If I need to shoot something 1000 yards away, I get on my bike, ride up to about 25 yards, and take it out with my Para! [lol] If you can hit stuff that far away, me 'at's off ta ya, Guv! ('cause like LenS, I wouldn't even be able to SEE it that far away!)

Welcome to the board Hutch. Did you happen to catch the vapor trail of the round through a spotting scope at 1K meters? It's pretty impressive to see the path the round takes to get there. Looks like a big hanging breaking ball. :D

Nickle,

I bought my pre-ban CAR-15 (used) with an AimPoint bolted on. It's a flat-top and has no other sights on it.

The stock 20" Bushy sports an ARMS #2 (quick release) rail and scope.

I'm covered. [lol]

I'm picking up my Rx shooting glasses tomorrow, just a day before my 4-day Gabe Suarez handgun class. It should be interesting to see what the difference in my accuracy is with these new glasses. They are ESS ICE 2.4, same as the US and Brit Military are using, with an Rx insert.

Of course, Len, you did know I was just ribbing you, right?

I'm so near sighted, I used to have my glasses ON to read the paper. Now, my vision is actually getting better as I get older (focus is moving out further). But, glasses correct it to 20/15, so I actually can see well, IF I've got my glasses.

I prefer "iron sights", with a few exceptions, one of which being my RomAK 3.
