I was watching the news on TV the other night. One of the stories concerned New Hampshire's dilemma about their 'Welcome to....." signs entering the state. I guess the bottom of the sign says, " You're going to like it here", and a number of state reps are considering changing it by removing that phrase and using the state's motto, "Live free, or die". After some dialogue about the Constitutional history of the motto, one rep stated, "(In New Hampshire) we believe that the rights of the individual are more important then anything the government wants to do". I hope I can vote for this rep. This mindset from an elected rep is why I live in New Hampshire. It would appear that that mindset is shared by many of his colleagues at the State House. I hope their politics stay that way.
