Can an LTC-B person purchase this?

It appears to be 10+1.

It also appears to be approved in this state for sale.

Have you ever shot one? [thinking]

What I have and have not shot is irrelevant in this discussion. If I've decided I want a Warthog, then who are you to tell me I shouldn't get one? Either A) I can't get one or B) I change my mind.

I've shot enough where you can stop telling me how to LEARN TO SHOOT etc.

We don't have a running inventory of what Four Seasons has on its shelves. They had some used ones and even might have a new one on the shelf. If they don't, they can order you one up in a hurry.

Great post!

And it appears to be OK for an LTC-B person to own due to it's low capacity.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I have had some issues with my Warthog stove piping.....I called and have been told that it will work itself out. At first I was able to shoot 10 rounds with one FTF being the last round in mag. After around 200 rounds I get stove piping about every 50 to 100 rounds. It seems to be working itself out and had a very successful pumpkin shoot with one stove pipe in the first mag and then nothing after that. I have had no problems since. The thing loves to be lubed.

I am really hoping that the jamming issues work themselves out because it is a nice small accurate firearm. I do not yet trust it as a carry gun. If you are in the Springfield area send me a PM and I'll let you shoot it at S&W

It's an ugly gun. I associate ugliness with cheapness. Not to mention it's a 1970s gun and thats just not up my alley.

[thinking]

Okay - to each his own...Enjoy your Warthog, I'm not sure whether or not you can own it with a B - check the Laws section of NES. If you like the 1911 style, I'd suggest a full-sized or Commander. The limits of the Warthog will become apparent to you really quickly. Let us know how the fireball tastes...[cheers]

No Warthog, at least from Four Seasons.

Ridiculous. Not with an LTC-B.

When clearly it states it's a low cap gun on Paras web site.

They're being cautious, can't fault them for not wanting to run afoul of the byzantine laws in this state.

If you don't want to take the advice of people on the forum, don't ask.

You already have another thread regarding the same topic and specifically asked about a compact 1911. We already gave you advice on that.

With that being said, FS almost always has several warthogs in their case. You associate ugly with cheap. That gun runs from about $700 to $900 at FS if I remember correctly.

I too think that's a pretty bad purchase for a first gun.
I have always loved the look and feel of that gun. I have always passed on purchasing it. I am 5'8" and about 180lbs, somewhat thick as I've weight trained for several years. It is too snappy of a gun for me and I shoot a few hundred rounds every week. The .45 sub-compact Glocks that I've owned are less snappy than the Warthog.

The gun is really only useful as a carry gun. It would be pretty uncomfortable as a range gun. You said you yourself were compact in size. I don't think this is the gun for you.

My first gun was a Glock 30. Sub-Compact and .45 like the Warthog. I had my LTC-A and could carry so I had more of a reason to own something that size. I brought it back the next day. Too heavy for my frame when carrying, not fun to shoot at the range.

I would go with a commander or full size 1911 for your first buy.

Or a revolver

Skip the Para... Get the Sig. I had a Para LTC and it was a POS. I wanted a Warthog for carry, but after reading about them, I found they are not so great. Plus it's a carry gun and nothing else...

The Sig 220 will be my next handgun purchase.

Get what you want, but we're just trying to help.

I hate to do this as I always want to help people get into shooting.
We told you so.
If we give you advice, please take it or ask for more explanation instead of disregarding it.

You really cannot buy much with an LTC-B.

Did FS tell you what they would sell you with your license?

A lot of people talking about "carry guns".

I think thats a load a crap.

If a gun looks cool, and a person can legally own it, who are you to tell them it's a carry gun?

+1 Para ordinance pistols have a very strong reputation for being expensive POS. DO some research on them and youll find out.

You can call it what you want. It's not going to be fun to shoot at the range.
I call it a "carry gun" you can call it a range gun if you want, hell you could call it an assault weapon or a machine gun (per Washington DC). It doesn't change the fact that it's small, heavy, snappy, and probably bad for a first gun.

This is aside from the issue of you trying to obtain one. I'd call around to see if someone would sell it to you. Otherwise, on to your next possible purchase.

I have nothing against that gun. Like I said before, I love the look and feel of that gun. However I've always passed on buying it.

There is some common sense used when we designate things carry guns or range guns etc. It depends on the person but usually it's correct. Range gun? Steel plate gun?
