Para Warthog .45ACP

A lot of people talking about "carry guns".

I think thats a load a crap.

If a gun looks cool, and a person can legally own it, who are you to tell them it's a carry gun?

I would say that any 3" 1911 would fall into the "carry gun" category. I would never use it for target, competition or even home defense.

That said, Like above, if you can afford it and like it, get what you want.

But I still think there are better choices for your money and such.

And if I’m not mistaken, a 10+1 gun is legal for a LTC-B holder.

What I have and have not shot is irrelevant in this discussion. If I've decided I want a Warthog, then who are you to tell me I shouldn't get one? Either A) I can't get one or B) I change my mind.

I've shot enough where you can stop telling me how to LEARN TO SHOOT etc.

Well Mossy,

How exactly did you come to the conclusion that I am trying to tell what to do? I simply asked if you ever shot one because it being a small gun in .45 can be "difficult" to handle and/or outright painful to shoot.

BTW, where in my post have I told you how to LEARN TO SHOOT? [rolleyes]

It is your money so do whatever you want.

I have found the Warthog quite acccurate and comfortable to shoot, not painful at all.......Have I mentioned that it JAMS ALOT???

You're never going to give up on that thing are you :)
I always wanted that gun. Maybe someday when I get sick of my Glocks always working. :)

Effin thing cost me 8 bills!!! damn right I am not giving up on it

But seriously I love the feel, trigger, and accuracy for its size...(when it doesn't jam)

Sig 220 Cheap???

No offense, but Para Warhogs are the cheap jam-o-matics, the Sigs are works of art.

Who knows at this rate they probably won't even sell me a 220.

If there was a person who actually operated a gun shop who would be willing to participate in a friendly discussion via PM in which I could express which handguns I would consider purchasing, and which they would consider selling, that would be super.

When you feel like selling it to me for 4 bills let me know.
I'll make it work and sell it back to you for 8?
Good deal?

Did you get a stainless one or a black one?

Mossy,
I ate breakfast so I'm not such an a**h*** right now. Low blood sugar and bad breath will do that to me.

When you finally do get a gun, check out IDPA or IPSC shooting. Tons of fun and great learning experience.

If you search my threads in the Pistol competition forum you can see some videos.

I have always lusted after one of the wart hogs too.. But the cost and their reputataion have always led me to buy something else when the funds were available..

If that is what you want, and you have the cash and they will sell you one with an ltc B, go for it..

You will probably realize pretty quick that it is really not a fun gun to shoot and offer it up for sale. I am sure that there will be a few here (myself included) that will be interested.

And, also, if you have an LTC B.. You are not legally able to carry any gun, are you?? Just something to consider..

p220 looks ugly and cheap

warthog looks sweet

I've been watching this thread unravel with some amusement.

Anyone with any knowledge of firearms is not going to make a comment about a precision piece of engineering, such as the Sig P220, even if they are not a fan of the make. Warthog is a pricey gun for what it is. Some of your other comments have me wondering if you actually have a licence...

Buying a firearm because it "looks cool" is fine - we all fall foul of that trap from time to time, but please, don't ask for advice on this forum and then ignore it. There is a lot of collective experience here, and people are only too willing to help out fellow shooters.

Sigs, cheap and ugly? Pass the bucket someone, I thing I'm going to lose last nights curry [rolleyes]

[laugh2] Ouch!!! that one hit close to home!!! This should be a separate thread in and of itself.. Guns we were stupid enough to buy because they looked cool...

Let's see.. For me.. Streetsweeper, feather At-22. feather 9mm, Nambu, semi uzi carbine, semi- open bolt mac 10, semi mac 11 380, many jam-o-matic PPKs...

I think it's an ugly gun.

Yea, I have a license, genius.

Seriously- it is hard enough trying to suggest a gun because of your LTC-B, that cancels out 98% of the guns on the market. Then you say Sigs are ugly- well if you think Sigs are ugly just buy a revolver. Can't really get to picky when you only have about three guns to choose from with your LTC- B.

Plus seriously does this look ugly.

The wood grips could go, that would be an improvement.

Noooooooooo!!!! It does not! Thanks to Lugnut, I have a P220 in stainless. Work of art!

That's okay, as I think you are a misguided soul with little or no taste for fine firearms. Be happy with what you buy, enjoy it. I'm sure we'll all hear about it at some point[grin]

I had a 239 for a while. Made perfectly, Probably the best factory sights I have ever seen. Trigger was nice, etc.. With all that said, I just never took to it. None of the Sig line really does anything for me either. But, they are great guns, just not for me.

Well if a gun shop won't sell me a Warthog, why would they sell a P220? I'm guessing they won't.

Thanks - that was my point. You can appreciate a good , well made gun even if it doesn't float your boat - without calling it ugly or cheap[grin]

I have three Sigs and love them all...just a matter of taste in the end.
