PINTY - any experience?

I mean I hate Sig just as much as the next guy, but the Romeo 5 non MSR is pretty much the standard for entry optics.

I don't understand the flinting for anything cheaper unless it's just a fun throw away rigle

Because everyone has their list of needs, and if all you need is a red dot the "works", why spend an extra c note or 3 to get nothing extra of value?

Being realistic, a 3 MOA dot means at 100 yards anything within 3" is within your zero. So it's ability to "hold zero" is really relative. If you are going to be using a red dot, even with a magnifier, does it matter if it shifts an MOA around while its on there? Not really. And based on people using pinty's on some really ridiculously large caliber rifles, it won't shift.

So if your checklist is 1. Holds zero 2. can take abuse 3. has an easy to change battery

There isn't a reason to buy more than a pinty. If you want to spend more just to say you spent more, it's your money. But to castigate someone for buying something that meets their needs is just being a douche. Don't be a douche.

The only nice feature missing from a pinty is shake awake. But the $50 to $300 saved sure buys a lot of batteries.

Cause the Sig Romeo is probably made in the same factory or similar spec to a Pinty in China. Same goes for Vortex. Only difference is a fancier brand name we all recognize.

I'm waiting for pinty to bring back their micro red dot. although I am tempted to just buy the Mecanik red dot so it mounts directly to the slide, that's a lot of a money for a little bit of benefit.

edit: nevermind, $250 and it still requires a mounting plate. Think I'll just go with an ADE.

I’m old school as fcuk. Aimpoint for red dots, ballistol for lubing. But then, I don’t own any firearm that I’d disgrace with that chinesium crap anyway.
Red dots in general are gay when most non-magnified applications would be aok with iron sights. Exceptions for the old and/or blind.

I never saw so many Amazon 5 star ratings in my life !!!!!!!!!
Those reviews/ratings are from all of us who bought dozens of those Pintys for $5.99 a couple of years ago, so that when we go to sell them in the NES classifieds for $50 each, it will seem like a bargain. It's my retirement investment.
