This morning made a run to my local gun shop to pick up an A2 stock and some slim hand guards for 3 AR builds then turned the woodchip piles and split half a cord of sawn oak blocks and some other blocked up stuff that usually comes with the woodchips.
I finally have something to put in mylar...
I'll likely get another bean, rice and oats bag and then have to call it good for now. I've got some 10lb cans and buckets of stuff from the start of the coof.
Picked this up. Need to remember to remove before air travel if taking keys (lighter fluid), but good lwindow break, flint based wick lighter, bottle opener and hand melee weapon.
Do you actually have it? Is it reasonable quality? Reason I ask is I bought a couple of things like this from Amazon that people have recommended and they're total junk.

I finally bought the book "The survival medicine handbook" and have been reading through it. I like it, would recommend it for the prepper. Good instructions on using anti-biotics properly as well.
I received my Jase Medical emergency medicine — looks very decent and I’m glad I ordered it. The nylon case and booklet are still on back order, but the meds came well packaged in bottles nicer than typical retail pharmacy bottles and the printouts you typical get from the Pharmacy with all of the dosing and pertinent information was included.
Jase provides the right meds the moment you need them. It's more than a personal medication supply. It's peace of mind. Order online today.

I ended up putting each bottle into a small Mylar pouch with desiccant packet and then putting them in a Pelican case to protect from humidity and UV degradation (I realize my storage is overkill for that purpose, but I had an extra Pelican case so I put it to use…)
I’d recommend theses based on my experience to supplement any OTC meds you may already keep on hand.

Regarding the window break.
Not many people are aware of - Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 226. This law requires that all motor vehicles manufactured after 2018 come equipped with side windows that will not shatter.
The side windows on new vehicles have a piece of plastic in the middle of the glass, just like your windshield. Gone are the days when you could break your side window and it would turn into a bunch of 1/4" square cubes.

We lost power this morning so I figured it would be a good time to hook up my solar generator and solar panels. Works great. Pecron e1000 generator and 2 harbor freight panels set up in series

Waiting on the big brown truck today delivering 3 PSA 16-inch nitrided AR uppers. Will add BCG, charging handle and flip up rear sights and they'll be put back in the box and put on the shelf as spares. Added forward assists and ejection port covers to 2 spare Aero Precision upper receivers, also going on the shelf as spares. Also waiting for 30 bore snakes, 20 in .22 cal for ARs and .22s and 10 in .30 cal. for the AKs and FALs.
Put 16 Golden Cross cabbage plants in the ground a few days ago, their leaves have already doubled in size. About two weeks ago I planted some of the Kale seeds I saved from last year, sowed them in the garden and they are about 2.5 inches tall already. It's still been cold here at night (morning frost) and cool during the day. I expect they will take off once we get a week or so of steady warmer temps and the soil warms.
Been splitting wood as weather permits, leaving it in a "thrown pile" in a good windy spot, tarping when rain is expected until the end of the summer. Sept I'll stack it in the wood shed when it's good and dry. Going to be very warm next winter.
Been feeding the deer daily. Giving them a mix of oats, corn, sunflower seeds, wheat and a little trace mineral salt. Also had some dried cranberries that my wife thought were gone by so the deer got those in the mix for two days, and last night it was a half container of prunes.....The deer loved them!! Had 7 does out there last evening, 5 of them are very pregnant and should be dropping fawns in the next two months. Rabbits everywhere eating the dandelions which I've deliberately not mowed. The deer like them too and they've been out there all through the night chowing down. I shine a light and see eyes everywhere about 0400.
That’s really not that bad if you’re planning on actually using it. I’m a backpacker and plan to rotate my food stores with what I take into the field, so I’ve been considering getting a unit for some time now.
It doesn’t look like it takes up a whole lot of space, which is nice!
I was watching a show about Aztec Gold last night and they mentioned the Incas were one of the first to freeze dry meats/fish/veg in the mountains of Peru in the 15th century and
haul it all over their kingdom. Dry, very cold air worked great. I always figured it would have been some group of Peoples in Siberia/Norway/Sweden/Finland.
