Why use the Apex Competition Firing Pin Kit?
This the firing pin kit we use in our top end revolver action work. It is intended to be used with Federal primed handloads for competition only. It measures .495" in overall length with a redesigned firing pin tip. The smaller surface area improves primer cup delimpling, the shorten f/p length allows for greater free run distance thereby it has a higher velocity at contact.
I wonder why they specify Federal Primers only?
