Your talking maybe 200 fps difference between the 2 loaded at “normal” loads ? The wsm came about to fit the short action guns ,
If your looking for reduced recoil to punch paper try 90 grain bullets with an appropriate powder loaded to the slowest velocity
If you looking to really reduce recoil look into reduced recoil loads with powders like Trailboss. Shooters world buffalo ectect
Also a gun that fits well will help a lot with managing recoil . The pitch of the stock is often “wrong”
Adding some weight helps also.
Comes down to end use really
Punching paper inside 300 yards its easier to just get a 223
Hunting ? I only knew I person shooting 270 win not wsm 130 grain bullet iirc around 3000 fps?
Good to about 350 yards?

If there data for H4895 for 270 wsm there are reduced load formulas for that powder also .
