and seems to come milled for RMR...Not a game changer, but according to one channel it has a better trigger than a Glock, uses Glock mags, has real, steel sights (unlike the plastic crap on Glocks) and all for $100 less than a Glock 19. Seems like a decent option. I'm not going to run out and sell my 19, but I think there is a market.
Milled for several different footprints.and seems to come milled for RMR...
That's really not saying much, or setting the bar all that high. Not a game changer, but according to one channel it has a better trigger than a Glock, uses Glock mags, has real, steel sights (unlike the plastic crap on Glocks) and all for $100 less than a Glock 19. Given that modularity is the selling point here, I think I would rather see slides cut as deep as possible for specific foot prints. If they release a slide with a deep milling for an ACRO, I'd consider buying one of these.Milled for several different footprints.
Not going to happen. The ACRO has tiny market share. RMR? Sure, that's possible. But ACRO? No way.Given that modularity is the selling point here, I think I would rather see slides cut as deep as possible for specific foot prints. They make great revolvers and .22LR rifles and pistols. Their PCC and 1911 seem pretty good. However their other centerfire pistols have always left a lot to be desired. I had an American compact... had. I've shot an SR9 and a few LCPs - hard pass on all.Despite owning some, I'm not impressed with Ruger. There's always something that bothers me or needs to be fixed.
Got to agree. My MkIV is awesome, and my PCC is built like a tank. But the couple of centerfire pistols I've had over the years have been mid. They make great revolvers and .22LR rifles and pistols. Not a game changer for me.....but its better than just having one Holosun you can drop on it without a plate.Milled for several different footprints.
I have the PC9 which is an awesome little gun, and have/had a few American Rifles For shit money their barrels have all been MOA.They make great revolvers and .22LR rifles and pistols. I have two of the 1911's and they're a solid, good value, the P85/89 guns seem to get snatched up quickly when they come up but every other center/semi design kinda sucked. They make great revolvers and .22LR rifles and pistols. "market differentiation"why not just sell the black frame first and colors later.
Neva Ben dun befo
and seems to come milled for RMR...
I like:
Glock variants.
Magpul products.
(Some) Ruger products.
Guns that are optics ready.
Guns that give you optic choices.
Being able to customize as I see fit.
Not having to have a holster made.
Using my already owned pre-bans.
I'm eager to see:
If this trigger chassis proves to be meaningfully reliable.
If Ruger plays this well and offers numerous slides, barrels, comps, triggers etc.
If Magpul doesn't drag their feet with offering numerous grip styles.
I know many will thumb their nose at it because of the ruger name but I really like the idea of this pistol. I agree with m1911 - I ain't selling my glocks or my shadow systems or my glock variants for it but if it's reliable........WOULD (buy one).
Ruger isn’t the first to do this. The downside, of course, is that red dots with shorter overall lengths won’t be supported by the back of the slide cut. So you’d better use loctite and hope the screws don’t break from the shear force.View attachment 944494
Kind of swiss-cheesey, but it's about time somebody did that, instead of having their own footprint that demands plates.
Isn't that what the pins are for?Ruger isn’t the first to do this. The downside, of course, is that red dots with shorter overall lengths won’t be supported by the back of the slide cut. So you’d better use loctite and hope the screws don’t break from the shear force.
MSRP is $499...View attachment 944494

At $400 MSRP, it could be a good starter pistol. I would try one.
