Heard a rumor in a bar today that Nashua PD raided/searched "the wrong house". It was said they searched the whole house, unplugged the homeowner's security cameras, then left with a sorry wrong address.

Has anyone heard anything.

I question the source who was suposeddly there, but was short on details. Pulled everyone out of the house but no reason for the search, no warrant given, didn't even take the guns found. Sounded more like a parole violation thing, but they said it wasn't.

I was just wondering what the word was on the grapevine.
 
no, i haven't heard anything, but...in this age, if true, one would think they would proceed with a little more caution. if you're a police dept wouldn't you have the tools to check and recheck the accuracy of these things. wouldn't surprise me if it was true though.

If the camera was mounted on outside of the home and within their reach, then don't be surprised if law enforcement covers it up or disables it by removing power. Plenty of recent youtube vids of police covering up outdoor porch/ring style cameras right before they breach the house.

When the FBI raided Mar-A-Lago, they requested that all cameras turned off immediately, and the Trumps voluntarily complied.

I feel like the video camera is the most dangerous thing a cop can imagine. An objective unbiased witness that nobody can dispute, that the whole world has immediate access to. How many times have you seen police fabricate false police reports, only to have the objective witness replay the exact scenario for everyone to see? Accountability to a cop is kryptonite.

I have a major itch to get one of these and go f*** around for a while. If I could swing it with work, wife, and two large dogs, I would.

In the case of interrogations, the FBI prohibits recording by the interrogee claiming it would "disclose interrogation methods". It also assures that the official record is the agent's notes, not the exact words that were said.

They may make the same claiim about searches. The feds have all sorts of cool toys and may not want videos showing how they conduct a source and what assistive gadgets they use.

Lots of negatives, if treating as a long term vacation, could be great. Really want a home base in case of bad luck.
Edit: Not quite 50 yet here, I feel a bit too old for that life full time.

And what if you didn't comply with their request? Would they arrest you? That would be ok since the FBI can't disclose interrogation methods?

Sorry I'm not seeing this benefit of complying with police outside of the law.

Someone may have used the wrong pronoun when addressing the officers, I'm guessing.
