S&W M&P 9mm magazine safety and slide interchangeability.

Hi all.

I'm interested in purchasing a M&P performance center ported slide and barrel kit. I know I want the 9L version but I'm struggling with the magazine disconnect.
There's 2 SKU #s
SKU 11872 for frames with no magazine safety and
SKU 11550 for frames with a magazine safety.
All I can find is the 11550 model but my frame is without the mag safety.

So my question is will it work? I don't understand how the magazine safety has anything to do with the slide except for stupid warning on the side of my non safety version.

It will work. The mag disconnect is on a pin in the frame.

Why anyone would want a mag disconnect is beyond me...

You're correct, the only difference in the slides is the CAUTION - CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED marking (or lack thereof).

Thanks guys, it was on sale so I ordered it. I'll get back with a difinitive answer when I get it next week.

The slides are 100% interchangeable. The mag disconnect has no affect on the slide, neither does the slide length. The frames are all the same.
