My buddy is looking for a Mosin Nagant and wants one still packed in the cosmoline if possible. He lives in Rhode Island, anyone seen any in the stores around that are in acceptable shape and might still be there?

You know what the price point on them were?
Tell him to try Acme up in plympton mass, theres no shortage of them really, most shops have atleast a couple.
So, is $99 the going price at most places? I'd rather get one in MA to avoid having to do the second transfer here. I know Bob's in Webster had them a while ago for $89, but he hasn't made a peep about any lately.

Saw 3 at $109 I think, couple at $139. Already have one so was not looking that close.

$109 was the lowest, my brother got a hex receiver 91/30 for $125.

I just talked to Bob the other day, his supplier doesn't have any good ones right now. He said he is waiting for the next shipment to come in, although he doesn't know when that will be.
There is no second transfer to bring a long gun into MA. Go buy the Mosin in NH (or whatever state you want )and register it on a FA-10 within 7 days of when it comes into MA. No need for a 2nd FFL or anything tricky like that. Cost in NH is the only cost you pay.
I bought one at fourseasons in Woburn last week. 120$ 1939 tula armory, they come with bayonets, slings, ammo pouches, and some mysterious tools. Yes they have cosmoline on them. Took me awhile to clean it but I think I got most of it.

Merrimack Firearms has a bunch of 91/30s for $99, and they were fairly clean.

I can imagine you'll see them soon enough on eBay or in the classifieds, as this wasn't a simple install... and I couldn't find a gunsmith
