Southborough Rod and Gun Club

I'll be around most of the day Sunday to show you around. We'll be shooting bowling pins (center-fire pistols) at 10:00AM at the outdoor range and then at the top of the hill for at 1:00 PM for a combined trap/skeet event (King of the Hill). Just ask for Steve... or "El Presidente".

JonJon-
I just got a walk round the club this morning. I think you'll like it.

Panama-
Thanks again for taking time out of your morning shoot to show me around... now thats hospitality!

Took a friend in to the rifle range today, he loved it, I couldn't get him to stop shooting lol (in a good way obviously). He's decided he wants to get an LTC and join our club :)

Got my acceptance letter today when i got home from work. Got the LTC a few weeks ago and have since made a few trips to Four Seasons.
Excited to get to the range! The 17th can't come soon enough. Hopefully I'll meet some of you next meeting.

Raddo, welcome!

It's a great time of year to join - the fall is a busy time on the social calendar, and, in addition to the evnets and functions, (Pig roast, field day, special shoots, etc.) there are work parties to go along with them (some not involving shovels and deep pits! [laugh]), so getting your new member's obligations completed is easy.

Remember, dinner is a 6:00, and before the meeting is a good time to meet the members and find ot what's going on.

See you there!

Hello Folks,

I am looking to get back into shooting after a roughly 15 year hiatus. Kids, work, all that...
I would be interested in joining SR&G as it is very close to my home. When would be a good time to introduce myself and put in an application?

BigCalm ( I like that name! unless it opposite day! [laugh] )

We shoot Trap and Skeet thursday nights, and there will be folks around to give you the nickel tour, and you can submit an ap.

Good timing, the BoD reviews and votes on the new member aps the first tuesday of the month!

If tonight doesn't work, Saturday at 10 is a work party for the Pig roast on sunday.

If Saturday doesn't work, Sunday is the Pig Roast ( 2 PM, tix are $20 ) and we're having a FLying Pig Trap Shoot at 10 AM in honor of the Roast.

PM me back if you have any ? about the club.

Flying Pig Shoot and Roast at SRGC

Reminder to all:

Southborough Rod & Gun Club's Pig Roast is tomorrow, (sunday, august 29) at 2:00

The feed will be preceeded by our Annual Flying Pig shoot on the Trap field, starting at 10.

Entry $10
Course of fire:
50 birds at 16 yards
Out of every case of birds loaded into the trap, there will be 15 "pigs" ( green targets) randomly inserted into the mix.
Most pigs out of 50 wins $20 (cost of the Roast ticket)
Runner-up gets a jar of applesauce.

There will be a winner, and a runner-up, from each squad of 5

You may enter more than once! You do NOT need to be a member of SRGC to play!

Additional, clever events are still being planned, so expect more surprises

There is a strong luck component, so even in you're not a AA shooter, you can still win.

Weather looks killer, so come on out and join the fun.

Questions? PM me back.

See you at the Top of the Hill, and Bring a Friend!

Sunday trap... Few questions..

I am not a member there.

Can my wife and I try trap there on Sunday?
Price?
Lead shot ok? Ammo restrictions?
Anything else I need to know?

I don't shoot trap, but I'm pretty sure that it is open to the public.

I also believe they have some ammo there if the lead shot is not allowed.

I would PM Misterhappy, he'll be able to answer your questions.

My son and I have gone the last 2 Sundays. 1:00 - 4:00pm. The turkey shoot last week was great!
Very welcoming group and we had a great time. My son, age 12, is hooked and can't wait to burn some more powder. We will more than likely submit an application in the spring.
Trap is $3.50/round for non-members
Shells $6.50/box
I highly reccomend Sunday visit for the open trap shooting.

Dues Question?

I joined SR&GC last year and was unable to make it to the required work parties/meetings.

I expected to get an email or notice saying that the dues are due, but have not received anything.

Does the $100 security deposit get applied to my dues or should I send a check?

Thanks,
Tim

Tim.

Contact Larry off of the Club's website www.srgclub.com and he'll let you know what to do.

As for notification, you should be getting the Outdoor Message which has our newsletter - the notice was there a while back, IIRC.

Also, a reminder the Annual Meeting is the 18th - I think it's the 65th one - not too bad a record!

Hello,
Looking into joining a Rod & Gun Club this year, hopefully in the Worcester/Middlesex area. Been to your website a few times. Love to take a tour of your facility. Do I need to contact anyone in particular to arrange it. I am traveling a bit this month but may be able to work something out.
Thank you for your support.

If you're available Sunday afternoons between 1-4, head on over and all the way up the hill to the skeet/trap area, there will be plenty of people around who'd be willing to show you the club. If you want to wait a week I'd be happy to show you around next weekend.
