Standing Air Rifle

Konrad has some great videos. This is the first time, that I recall, that he has addressed the comparison between highpower and airgun/smallbore.
It's a tough comparison, too: the airgun target is quite a bit tighter, but airgun shooters never have to contend with uneven (ground) shooting points, extreme heat or cold, or trying to shoot an X while being buffeted by the wind. Not to mention recoil and noise.

173, 176 total= 349, ave=87.25
trying new methods , angles , pressures on the cheek to cheek piece , having good results, near the end, usual good steady and this happened, knew they were good shots as it happened. A good reward for the work done. I saw a Jerry Miculek video, Kind of reminded me of my past shooting, If you try to quote "make it happen, your wheels will fall off", instead, "Watch it happen and Brilliant things will happen."unquote 20240505_195452.jpg

Im not keeping score , hits on black are my goal for now,

177 10 meter air rifle, attempting to use it for 50 yards Standing, 640 fps, 8.18 grn wadcutter pellet.
Benchrest is better group target. 87% overall standing pos. The fun part of this is you can see the pellet go thru the paper. 20240526_074652 - Copy.jpg 20240527_085045 - Copy.jpg

Use the struts solid round, and cut it to length for the desired weight. I need to find the correct increaser bushing size, the strut was from a Subaru so it is metric 10 mm thread size, I think the hole thread size for the cheek piece is 6 x 1.0 mm.
Using a thin wheel disc grinder to cut these, it is hard steel, it takes time to cut , but the job does get done. It is a very affordable method to add weights and looks good too.
I put a Barska 20 x 50mm scope on the 900 for 40 yard Standing and am now at now at 13 1/2 pounds, and want to try another 8 ounces to get to 14 pounds. 410929418_10230985337517476_526459778197433075_n.jpg 20240530_085757.jpg

My goal for the 24/25 air rifle season. Step 1= lose the 7's and get to 365.
Step 2 = lose the 8's and get to 370.
Only shoot 10's and 9's. 20241005_104701.jpg
At the same time, once a week or so, shoot a 60 shot session, and see if these scores can
be attained, shots 41 thru 60 will be the test.
I can hang all the targets needed for the 60 shot course, so all shots will be fired without a break.

Last nights standing, actually had a good run of 10's, the hard work is starting to pay off. 20241116_194409.jpg Takes me 45 minutes to warm up, get steady, this was the 2nd target, 1st was a 178.

20241223_194647.jpg Hanging 3 targets for either 40 or 60 record shots, this one is 180 + 187= 367 , 92 ave. The other night was 534 out of 600= 89 ave.
Good example of what 3 months of training 5 to 7 days a week is. Starting to get very comfortable steady, still have to pull the trigger.
My goal is to get to 100.

I keep toying with getting a really good air rifle and shooting in my basement
How can I help you? Information, rifle source, rifle type, gear possibilities, benchrest, prone , kneeling, standing, F-Class.
Having direct experience, sometimes getting a really good air rifle is not just placing an order, and it arrives in a week.
Also , can help in what Manufacturer/Brand, and their body type applications. Indoor only, Indoor/outdoor, Outdoor...
Used deals...?

Well, it's been about 40 years since 3 position when I was young. Shot a borrowed Annie back then.

I kick myself for not picking up a used lefty FWB on another forum a couple of years ago for a steal.

I'm too old now to stand without getting tired. So I think I'd stick with prone/kneeling/f class if I were to get back in to it.

This. Lots of good deals on used equipment.
That's where I got my Morini 162E for about 1/2 the price of new.
