Tinnitus, hearing aids, any cure ?

Then again, anyone I knew and know who spent any time in a UH-1 Huey is either deaf or pretends not to be.
I was Field Artillery in an Armor unit. I'm not deaf (amazingly), but I pretend to be. When people start talking without establishing a comms channel first, I walk away like I didn't hear them. The white hair helps me get away with it.

I guess I’m fortunate because my Tinnitus sounds like “white noise”

The complete hearing loss in one ear really sucks though.

The hearing aids the VA gave me didn’t help with either.

My grandmother was as deaf as a haddock, wore hearing aids, but never changed the batteries, as a consequence, my grandfather used to roar like a bull moose. My grandmother confided to my little sister that, "She never bothered buying batteries, I just don't see the point".
My MIL-88 years old. Has been very hard of hearing for last 10 years or so....she acknowledges it but doesn't realize she's missing more than she's actually hearing. There is no doubt in my mind that it's has affected her declining cognition. Kids have been after her for years to get hearing aids...and then the realized a couple years ago, she doesn't get them cause she doesn't want to listen to my FIL lol.

On the subject of tinnitus...had it in varying degrees since HS. I seriously wonder if hanging out in the computer room with the loud AC blaring as often as I did had something to do with it. Was pretty stable through my early 40's (wasn't doing much shooting then), and starting to get worse and become constant in my late 50's (wife blames shooting, but I'm always wearing earplugs and earmuffs). Get tested every year...audiologist in true "we don't know" fashion says "Well could be related to shooting, could be a result of your Cushings and Addisons, could just be age". I have a notch of hearing loss at high frequencies out of the speech range. She tells me it's actually pretty common.

But the hissing is pretty regular...seems most affected by things like lack of sleep, too much coffee (which makes me a terrible shot too :)) on certain days. I noticed it's also tied to congestion some days...ENT says that's impossible, but my ears say otherwise. Therefore on warm/hot,dry days....much less noticable.
Ibuprofen knocks it out of the park for a few days after taking it....really ramps up the volume.

I tend to listen to something neutral to fall asleep...Youtube has 10 hour rainstorm from the Calm app. Put in BT headphones and drift off.

For me is was single dumb act. I got the Vax. One shot before knowing better. Worst headache I’d ever had for two days straight. Nothing helped. When it ended I had tinnitus. My guess is clotting or inflammation in the tiny blood vessels of the inner ear. Worst f’ing decision of my life. At least I was able to warn my wife and others not to get it. Test crash dummy.

Have you tried nattokinase and ivermectin? The nattokinase will safely digest microclots and the ivermectin will clean up the spike proteins.

I have a constant hissing sound in both ears when awake.

Exactly what I have plus partial hearing loss in my right ear. I've noticed that the volume of the hissing depends a lot on what I eat. Eat too much sugar and the hissing is loud. Eat healthy, lots of vegetables and salads and the hissing diminishes a lot.

I just noticed in the last few days that if I run my tongue across the front of my upper teeth my ears ring like sleigh bells. It is like living in a swamp where every insect and animal is sounding out non stop. Getting worse over the years as well.

My daughter asked me to listen to her car as its making a squeaky sound. I stood there and said I didn't hear anything. We went for a ride, I kept thinking I was hearing the annoying sound, only to learn it was her radio - still hear nothing from the engine. Daughter and son are both looking at me like I'm nuts - the noise is driving them crazy and I'm oblivious. lol
Turns out the belt is a tad loose, easy fix and it was time for her oil change anyway.

She now has learned two lessons:
1) Get weird noises fixed as soon as you hear them, and it is way cheaper than when they go on for a while
2) Don't get Dad to try to find a noise
