To The Guy At Westwood with the AR10, NF scope, Loud AF Brake and TSUSA Ammo Box

Comes up to me to show off. 10-25yds. He's got a grouping around 5"
if it would be from shooting off hand while standing - it may be something to like, for a non-trained person.
i feel a sense of accomplishment these days when i stand up and able to hit a 6" steel plate from 100yds, from a stance with no sling and no supports.
days of me having steady hands to be able to do 2" hit from 100 meters are simply done and gone, to each his own, according to an age.
it is a very perishable skill, if you do not practice regularly - it simply deteriorates into nothing.

Those days were never there. Nobody can do that with any regularity. National champions strive to keep 20 shots inside of 7" at 200. I'd say it happens less than people think.

I came back to edit; how I typed that reads different from what I was thinking. The point I was trying to make was: don't be too hard on yourself because nobody is really that good,

at high school i was a participant of a shooting team, .22lr biathlon style rifles, 25/50/100 meters targets. small ones. :)
with a steady torso, correct grip, correct breathing, it is possible. quite difficult, though.

as a kid i spent a shitload of time in local air rifles ranges that were very common - usually a 5 meter (some were 10) distance, with targets in size from 20 to 5mm.
those old soviet union days. :) any kid from the age of 8 or 10 i think could simply walk in, handle over cash, get those pellets and shoot away.
one was just across from my middle school and was the best part of my day, usually, for an hour or 2 :)

here, i think even found what it was - izh 38. such a blast from the past... :) good memories.
