Does your Town require you to place a sticker on your vehicle for Town regulated area’s or services?
Here’s my response to my towns new sticker placement requirement after I was told to rest assured that many committee, sub-committee, counsel, and special counsel meetings were held by town officials and determined that their sticker placement requirement was “OK”.

The new Town sticker vehicle placement instructions with the new “relocated” to the lower corner of the driver’s side of the front windshield location, causes a distraction and obstructed vision blind spot which impedes the vision of the operator.
I believe that, the Town sticker placement requirement is in violation of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts General Laws, Part I, Title XIV, Chapter 90
Section 9D: Windshields and windows obscured by nontransparent materials
https://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXIV/Chapter90/Section9D
As stated in the referenced MGL, Violations of any provisions of this section shall be punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred and fifty dollars. Upon a third or subsequent conviction of a violation of the provisions of this section, the registrar shall suspend the operator's license of a person so convicted for a period not to exceed ninety days.
Pictures of my vehicle show that the obstruction caused by the Town sticker in the "New" location is a 12” square blind spot above the hood line at the front of my vehicle, and an 18” square blind spot at seven feet from the front of my vehicle. The blind spot projects an additional 6” width and height to the 18” square every additional seven feet. My seat is kept in the fully raised position.
The 3.75”W x 2.5”H DMV inspection sticker is 55” from my eye’s, and the new 3.25”W X 2.5”H sticker is 38” or 30% closer, to my eyes.
As specified in Massachusetts General Laws, Part I, Title XIV, Chapter 90, the only MA approved sticker placement location is in the windows behind the side windows immediately to the rear of the operator's seat. That’s usually the third little side widow to the rear.
A town sticker required area attendant recently informed me of the new sticker location requirement and handed me a copy of the instructions. The new requirement is also on the Towns web site. He said that the previous rear drivers side passenger window location made it difficult to see the sticker due to the large number of vehicles having factory tinted rear windows. The new sticker color, versus the previous sticker color, should make it easier for him to see the infrequently used sticker in the old location versus impeding the vision of the operator on a continuous basis.
Besides being in violation of Massachusetts General Laws, the subject sticker placement requirement places the vehicle operator and the Town at risk of being liable for any accident that may be determined to be associated with a violation of the referenced Massachusetts General Law.
As objective evidence, I request a copy of a waiver, if the Town has been issued a waiver to Massachusetts General Laws, Part I, Title XIV, Chapter 90 Section 9D by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the specific Town sticker placement requirement.
I also had my previous sticker on the driver side rear door window removed during the summer of 2020 when I had service done by an authorized RMV inspection location.

Getting in an accident due to the new sticker and location, could be better than winning the lottery
