Oh, there are still plenty of American gun manufacturers, but plastic is their main highly-profitable thing now (in terms of handguns) and all-metal is a costly luxury for collectors and demanding sport/competitive shooters only (i.e., no longer for police). Did they even get a quote back from any American all-metal handgun manufacturers for this specialty item?We (Americans) keep telling ourselves it's OK to destroy our manufacturing base so we can save money at a store.
I'd say that's entering into nightmare territory. Especially when you look at the countries giving us all these low prices.
