Holy crap...I guess he's pretty lucky. I mean, it could have been a lot worse.

He did admit that he didn't check the chamber...and I bet he does now for the rest of his shooting life. And he's lucky that both him and his wife had some trauma training.

But, not looking, pulling the trigger with your hand in front of the barrel, not following the ideal that every gun is loaded...

He violated quite a few.

I originally saw this November last year when a friend e mailed it to me. Since then I have seen more comment on it.

Shooter stated somewhere, I can not remember where I saw it, he is not law enforcement and has no idea how it elevated to that point.

Yes, many mistakes, but it has been embellished a lot since I first saw it.

How come for him it was an "unintended" discharge, and for any of us it would've been a negligent one?
