Far better, learn where to hold!
Florescent orange birds stand out well enough, but it is tough to figure how high to hold over them. My AR shoots one in low at 25 yds, but 2.25 in low at 10 yds with a 50 yd zero. This can make a big difference on a small target.
This was very embarrassing at the last HSC match.... I have shot AR from 50-600 yards but NEVER at less than 5 yards. There was a target on stage 4 with only a "head shot" availible. I felt like and idiot as I must have shot it 6 times trying to figure out if I hit it or not
True, it's incredibly inefficient to set your gun up differently for every match. And then your hold over/unders are never automatic.Far better, learn where to hold!
That makes one of us!I spent a couple of hours on the range yesterday doing just that.

Ammo is too expensive for that crap
Spoken like a true fiscal conservative. I used my 22 LR AR which is zeroed just like the match 223. 22 LR is still cheaper than .308, I think.

I just put all of my 308 in a safety deposit box. I plan on leaving it as part of my estate.

Going to be a wee bit chilly.
Need to use the barrel heat to keep our hands warm!
You showing up tomorrow? I'm sick of dragging that motor all over eastern Massachusetts. Don't leave without it.
