Because they are wussies, wussies that are complaining about a round that was already wussified (10mm) because it hurt their wrists really bad, and now that we have the wussified 10mm (.40) it still hurts their wrists really bad..... 9mm is the round those wussies feel is ok for their flamboyant limp wrists.
Probably the same people who think Pop Warner football is to rough and should be softened.
Pretty sure my .40 never once hurt my wrist, ever, in the history of my experience of shooting .40, and I know this because I never ever said, "Ouch, that hurts."
I just like being back on target and having tighter groups with my 9. I feel I shoot it better. Plus now that there's limited ballistic benefit to the .40 over the 9, what's the point?
