I boogered the elevation screw on my 1911. The screw has a very narrow slit and it took a lot of torque to turn it. Doh! It is not terrible, but it bugs me.
I have a replacement screw now and am wondering how to remove the old one. I don’t see any way to crack into the sight.. so do I just keep unscrewing it? Are there any detents or springs that will go flying?
Also, where can I buy a wide 5/32 bit so that I don’t mess up the new one?
