The second BSW today was built in a depot. there was a crisis of rifles in 1941 and 1942 between german bureaucracy believing the war was won at the same time the eastern front wasn't going as they expected. As they tried to ramp up K98 production in all manufacturing sites, they also turned to their Depots. Their original mission was to do higher level repairs that couldn't be completed at the field. they had enough parts that they started to assemble and number parts creating guns. This was a relatively short period of time making these rifles very hard to find if not rare. This rifle has all metal matching parts excluding bolt. and a BLM stock. the BSW is only marked on the side of the receiver as it was supposed to be a parts replacement. This one was built by the depot as a full gun as opposed to a depot repair.
