S&B should do just fine in a A3Hard to tell with Sellier and belliet ammo. Getting my hands on Match grade 30-06 is literally going to be the reason I start reloading.
Rifle , ammo , mat , shooting jacket if club ones fit, gloves, scope < not really needed as long as we have enough shooters for pit service. Plenty of people to help with scopeDamn. I so woulda went to this if I saw it.
Big bonus that they supply the rifle. Because I don't have a garand.
Did I misunderstand ?Rifle , ammo , mat , shooting jacket if club ones fit, gloves, scope < not really needed as long as we have enough shooters for pit service. Plenty of people to help with scope
I was just adding to the list of things available so yes rifles. We have jackets Mats gloves. And yes, you pay for the ammoDid I misunderstand ?
I thought they supplied the rifle?
Ammo is buy there or bring
Mat I have
Shooting jacket?
Gloves I have
Scope? I thought it was an irons type thing only

80+ year old rifles unless tined well in great shape still are not “match guns”
Get to reloading: everyone had their own little pet load. I usually shoot cast from my A3
Getting a solid foundation, Natural Point of Aim, consistent sight picture and solid off hand scores will take your scores up faster than “match ammo”
For cmp games 3 moa will clean targets if you can hold it.
Your off to a great start.
Your average shot was 8.6
IMO
Learning to call your shots will help also.
S&B and PPU should hold minute of black as long as you and rifle can. That is some solid advice and good points. I am probably going to get into reloading, but probably not until next yr. I'm just to busy to take on another aspect.
You know I don’t even remember what year it is. I want to say the barrel says 46.I was bummed I couldn't make it, I was sick all weekend. I usually shoot my 03a3 better too, it likes faster fps than the garand too. What yr is yours? How's the barrel?
I might even bring the jap 99? Or even the enfield? Now that I'm GTG medically, unfortunately I'll be out of state for the July vintage match. Bummer because I really like shooting the K31.
Did you ever enter the 99?I might even bring the jap 99? Or even the enfield?
Yea I have shot the 99Did you ever enter the 99?
Pretty good chance I can swing by the Camp Perry CMP North Store next month.
Is that an Israeli one or something other?I also have the K98 in 308 to try
Picked up a israeli surplus NATO barrel and swapped it out.Is that an Israeli one or something other?
I'd really like to find a 7.62 Israeli Mauser that still has the German markings.
It's been years since I gave up trying to see this type of sight !!I will not be bringing the 98K to the vintage match coming up. I officially cannot see the rear notch or the front site.
Which worries me because the 31 is not much better of a site set up. Although I did install wider front sites on the 31.
So that leaves me with the two vintage rifles I have with app style sites. The Enfield and the T 99.
Might be time for a faux sniper scoutIt's been years since I gave up trying to see this type of sight !!
