9 mm carbine

Hi-Point is fun and surprisingly accurate
Marlin Camp 9 is originally what I was looking for when I ended up buying the Hi-Point
Ruger PC9, never shot one.

A friend told me there is a universal set that fits the beretta 92x( the pistol Im getting) are they hard to find?

Nice name btw. Yep the Hi-Point is a ton of fun but is very hard to find. Pick one up if you get the chance. Some take Glock mags, some take Beretta 92.

Are 9mm carbines hard to come by now that there is a possible ban comming up?

Gunbroker, you just have to be willing to pay the inflated PANIC prices. A good condition Marlin Camp 9 was about $500 last year, now it is $800. Hi-Points were $230, now they are $300-400.

Go Green and place a WTB ad in the classifieds. Someone might want to unload something that has been sitting in a safe. Good luck

The Hi-Point takes a proprietary single stack 10 round mag. Not sure if you are in MA, as there is an aftermarket 15 round available but most reports are negative on function.

The Kel-Tec Sub 2000 has a 2 Glock configs, one for Glock 19 mags and the other for Glock 17 mags. All longer mags will fit the G19 setup, but the G19 mags will not fit in the G17 setup as they are too short. These two models are proprietary to Glock mags only.

Kel-Tec also offers a Beretta/S&W/Sig configuration. This configuration can be switched between each manufacturers mags with the changeover of the mag catch. The replacement parts are available from Kel-Tec for reasonable cost, and most reports have been that Kel-Tec ships it out at no charge.

I have a Hipoint 995 and a G17 Kel-Tec. The Kel-Tec wins on cool and capacity, since I found some 30 round mags, but the Hipoint is a lot more enjoyable to shoot. The Kel-Tec just seems to punch me in the jaw with every shot. Haven't taken the time to see about mods to make it more comfortable yet. Both models are going for a premium, if you can even find one, the KT even moreso.

Can't help you with the other models, as I have no experience with them. The last Beretta I saw was going for $900+, although people say it is well worth it.

If getting a Beretta 92, then I would recomend the CX4, not the best trigger, but that can be fixed, other than that it is a great shooting gun.

Go green for sure! A HP and a KT in the past week or so, and a KT in .40 also.

I like my Camp 9

hi-points dont take glock mags the kel-tecs do though. You should always use hi-point mags with hi-point at least that is what i was told by one if thier gun techs. He said if you use the non factory hi cap mags that you can get cause issues with the feed ramps and void the lifetime warranty. Yes you heard right lifetime warranty! I picked one up cheap in a package deal and it was totally beat, firing spring was toast along with other springs and the finish was toast all worn off the receiver shroud. The guy i talked to at their shop said to send anything that was rusted or beat up back and he re-powder coated all of it and sent it back for free!.. Here are some before and afters. The stock upgrade was 40 plus 2 mags with mag holder another 40. They would have sent me a new original stock for free.

I just bought a Ruger PC9, it is a super nice carbine modeled after a 10/22. I have only put a 100 rounds down the pipe or so, but I am in love.

Who did you have to sleep with to get that? I haven't seen a single PC9 on a shelf anywhere for years. [laugh]

hate you. where'd you get that?

Four Seasons consignment, don't hate me too much, I had to pay $749 for it with 7 mags. It is the ghost ring version which is nice.

The action was a bit sticky when I bought it, reason was it still had shipping grease on it. [smile]

I just talked to Jesus and he said that he wants you to man up and buy an IMI Uzi Model B Carbine...right now...So you'd better listen....

There was something pre-ban up at Pete's in Adams a week or two ago. Vector Arms. At over $2100, I didn't spend too much time looking at it.

I had a Beretta CX4, and I loved it. It's super easy to shoot, the ergonomics are very comfortable, it's fun and accurate. It was a favorite among new shooters I took to the range. It has a bit of a "plastic toy" feel to it, but otherwise, awesome gun. I had both the CX4 carbine and the 92FS, which shared magazines, and made a great pair.

However, technically they were my ex girlfriends, and she kept it when we broke up - damn I miss those guns. Only guns I ever regret losing.

Only problem is, I started shopping around for a new carbine a couple months ago, but I couldn't believe the prices. MSRP is something like $900, and I saw them going for $1200-$1800 on Gunbroker - insane!

I've been praying to Jesus to find me one that's under $2k, but he doesn't seem to be listening...

I'm with MassMark, you can build one of these, I hammered the receiver out of Iron ore I mined from the ground (just kidding, my homage to Boris the master of the shovel):

It weighs 11 lbs, and when you run out of ammo, you can use it as a dangerous weapon (club). It is also a bunch of fun to shoot.
