9 mm carbine

Four Seasons consignment, don't hate me too much, I had to pay $749 for it with 7 mags. It is the ghost ring version which is nice.

The action was a bit sticky when I bought it, reason was it still had shipping grease on it. [smile]

lucky bastard.

then again i scored a S&W model 15 there the exact same way you scored that PC9. only difference is that i turned that model 15 into a beretta cougar 8045.

Do you want a seperate firearm besides your pistol? If you getting a Glock there's a company called Mech Tech that makes a complete upper that allows you to turn your Glock into a carbine. I think they run in the $400-$500 range.

Thureon Defense makes some interesting 9mm carbines. Handled one at Northshore Firearms a while back. I rember being impressed for the price point.

Have you shot one before? If not, you may want to try one out if you can. I won't get rid of mine because I like certain features (30 round mags), but the Hi-point is a lot more enjoyable to shoot. I have to get my face too low to sight, and it just seems to punch hard. I haven't had a chance to try any mods or mount a red dot on it, so that may help.

I've shot my buddy's hipoint and it wasn't bad. What I'd really like is a keltec in a glock 17 configuration.

The hi-point aren't bad

I'm a big fan of Hi-Point 995TS's. I think it's a great gun and fits me well. Everyone that see's it, wants to try it and everyone that try's it, wants to buy it. A good inexpensive (or was before the last 6 weeks of crazy times) gun that has a great warranty. Oh, and smile factor is awesome. Try one and you'll know what I mean.

Some more pic's and my short review at : http://webpages.charter.net/jlevitan1/hipoint/hipoint.html

I love my Beretta CX4 Storm. Mine takes 92 mags which are slightly easier to find pre ban 15 rounders. Now I just need a few more 10rd range mags. I think it would be good for home defence and maybe a perfect second rifle for the kids to try after graduating from 22LR.

I had a Ruger PC9 carbine at one point. It was amazingly overbuilt, weighed you could easily bludgeon someone with it.
You could also get preban magazines for it with 15 or 20 rounds.

However, the trigger was just awful. You'd pull it back, then pull it back some more, then some more, and it
felt mushy. I ended up selling it, but now I wish I'd tried to get a really good gunsmith to do something about that trigger.

In the end, I decided I'd rather just use an M1 carbine, which is lighter and more ergonomic, and at the time were only $450 from the CMP (sniff)

Another vote for the Beretta CX4 storm. I love mine and you can get the parts from Midway or Brownells to have the it accept 92FS mags. You can also buy stock spacers to have it fir your length of pull

I love my Camp 9. Just finished rebuilding it and went o

ut and shot it today. I bought a Boyd stock for it and replaced all springs in the trigger assembly. They are available on Gun Broker. Take the S&W 59 magazine.

Citadel Arms displayed a 9mm version of the M1 Carbine. Supposedly going on sale late in the year.

Aloha

Bumping this old thread to see if anyone has had a chance to try one of these. Being a recent Beretta 92-series nut, and a long time fan of the M1 carbine, it seems like a nice fun rifle. Anyone know a shop that stocks them?

Hmm. After looking into it further I don't think much of the Chiappa. While it looks like an M1, it's a clunky blow back gun. Youtube reviewers seem to get a lot of FTF's.
