On the upside, the black flag was up every day as soon as we finished morning PT, so we weren't allowed to double time.
The towers were still in use when I went, but only a very small percentage of the students in a class got to use them, and I wasn't one of them.I went through in '96. By that time, the black hats told us the towers were all unsafe to use.
They sent down a demonstration mannequin on the first day to show us what a parachute looked like, but nothing more. And yes: nobody likes the SLT.
