Active Shooter Situation in Lewiston Maine

And the “recommendations” will surely be to disarm Americans
...and everyone will just be so polite about it. [thinking]

JUST ONCE I want to wake up to the news that one of these creatures has had its skulls smashed with a hammer and its sorry carcass nailed to a tree or suspended over a highway overpass for all to enjoy.

It was an Army hospital, as well.

Just like the Air Force guy with the AR who killed a bunch of people at a church and was himself shot and killed with an AR from a citizen. He was in the military justice system.

Military does not report.
This is true... buddy of mine has 2 duis

Got drunk and drove onto an army base...one of those ones where the exit is the base kinda thing

3rd dui shouldve lost his drivers license for a few years but its a federal offense and blah blah basically it didnt count against him on the state level

Biden inbound ….

1st, you know he couldn’t care less about people in ME getting shot.

His handlers only fly him to where they see opportunity. In this case, to push for disarming law abiding citizens to scratch their lust for tyrannical power.

How completely screwed up is that.

President Biden and First Lady set to visit Maine to mourn with the community after mass shooting

He's a piece of shit, yes, but most presidents do the same thing: the photo op at the site of a tragedy is a well-used political prop by both parties. If there's a catastrophe, they'll always use it to push an agenda.

Except he didn’t make it to the Christmas massacre site. Etc. why is that you think?

Folks who worry about Red Flag laws should find this all comforting.

Card was a screw up and he was still allowed to have guns.

If a gun owner is as screwed up or less screwed up - don't worry.

Sorry, I do worry. The ex parte nature of the initial hearing combined with paying a lawyer for a “he said/ she said” follow-up hearing before judges appointed by Maura and rubber-stamped by the Governor’s Council? No thanks.

Incompetence scares me, but not as much as vindictiveness.

So the story this morning is that Card tried to purchase a suppressor. According to ABC News, the transaction was blocked when he answered yes to being committed to a mental institution on the 4473. Of course the MSM is spinning that to, "He could have killed so many more people if the gun shots were not heard because of a silencer."

So.... He passed the ATF background check already if he is at the 4473 part. What the F is the ATF doing those 9 - 12 months? Apparently, not actual background checks.

PS: That's what i get for turning on a TV just to see the weather boobs guess if it will rain today.

He shot up a group of deaf people, they already couldn't hear the shots...

”Since the Maine killer was released after his psychiatric evaluation at West Point's Keller Army Community Hospital, where he stayed for two weeks, he apparently did not meet the state's criteria for involuntary commitment. But that needn't have been the end of the matter…Gun control activists complained that Maine's "yellow flag" law is harder to use than the "red flag" laws that 21 states have enacted, which have fewer and weaker procedural protections.”

Just as laws cannot compel criminals to obey them, laws cannot compel authorities to enforce them. There is an assumption that authorities will comply more often and more readily with laws than will criminals, but both are driven to noncompliance by self-interest. Rad Flag/ERPO laws relieve authorities of executional burden and responsibility for errors, which gun control activists favor.

“Better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer” is attributed to Blackstone, on whose law commentaries our laws are based in the US.

“Better ten innocent person have firearms quickly and easily seized than one potential killer be allowed to keep them” reflects the contrary basis of Red Flag/ERPO laws.

Liberal prosecutors have abandoned the premise of individual responsibility for the ideology of collective group justice, trying to mete out “equitable” justice, taking into account not only proportional population representation, but also reparative overcompensation. That is, “oppressed groups” get a pass for past and present injustice, plus some extra payback.

The same liberals are happy to mete out collective injustice to the minority gun owner group, in a futile effort to enforce law and order against the a vanishingly small population of mass killers,. The most liberal count of <700 killers in 2022 represents < 0.0003% of the US population. Not only is that injustice immense, but it’s fruitless, as long as laws cannot make people obey them or enforce them.

”The mass shooting in Maine last week, which killed 18 people, was the country’s deadliest of the year. It may have also been one of the most avoidable.”

The NYT catalogs the many warning signs. The family called the PD, the PD called the Army, the Army let the PD handle it, the PD couldn’t find the guy, the Army said maybe best to leave him alone and the PD thought best to let the family handle it.

NYT’s conclusion: Maine’s Yellow Flag law didn’t work.

NYT’s solution: An assault weapons ban and a Red Flag law allowing friends and family to directly have PD seize weapons on request.

Who is surprised?

I don't think the people of Lewiston give a F**K that he is coming.

Ruger AR10 supposedly, but who knows.

They reported this....

LEWISTON, MAINE: The AR-15 rifle is America’s favorite semi-automatic rifle, as evidenced by the one in 20 Americans who own it.

Shorter than a baseball bat and lighter than a bowling ball, the AR-15s are affordable and easy to shoot, and their gentle recoil makes it easy to aim at targets.

The AR-15’s high-velocity bullets makes this rifle deadly — those who get shot with it, are quite literally eviscerated by the blast.

The aforementioned qualities make this rifle an absolute killing machine and the rifle model is the go-to 'weapon of choice' for mass shooters and other perps.

Then they realized it was a Ruger .308.....
Last night, law enforcement officials confirmed that the gunman in Lewiston, Maine, likely used a Ruger SFAR, an AR-10 that fires a .308 caliber cartridge, even more powerful than the AR-15.

Now they are after Ruger for making a more powerful gun than the evil AR-15
“The Ruger SFAR is the latest example of the how the gun industry innovates for lethality," Josh Sugarmann, executive director of the Violence Policy Center, said in a statement "Marketing for the gun brags how Ruger has successfully created a more powerful weapon on a smaller, lighter frame. It is long past time to hold accountable manufacturers such as Ruger that manufacture assault weapons that are repeatedly and predictably used in horrific mass shootings.”

You really can't make this shit up....

I called it based on three things. So this guy used a battle rifle. Not an assault rifle. (air quote shit engaged).

Now things are starting to make sense. It's not an AR-15.. k. Begin lube ops.

Yeah but their argument falls apart when you remind them cops carry automatic versions of said weapon of mass destruction.

ouch, they've made my sfar evil. i`m so sad, gonna cry now.

funny how dumb libs are slowly discovering calibers.

ps. and dumb mofos still do not know that sfar is not an ar10. at all.

Wasn't the AR chambered in 7.62 NATO before it was chambered in 5.56?

Not sure I'd call that an example of the "gun industry innovating for lethality." That "innovation" is about 60 years old.

well, ar15 was _based_ on ar10, but AR10 have never got standardized, so to say.
.223 caliber as a hunting platform is way above .308.

Ah.

Still.

I'd hardly call using 7.62x51 any kind of "innovation" in a decades-old platform.

The left are full-blown in favor of only police having guns.
eventually police also will have no guns - only the federal entities sent to terror population will.
or until they will 'fix' police to no longer report to any local municipalities. the whole idea is to have an armed federal center that enforces its will over all the provinces.

you mean the shit those morons wrote? well, whatever.

sfar is a bit of an innovation, still, as they shed at least 2.5 lbs from a lightest possible ar10 - it is essentially a .308 platform in the ar15 form factor, and a ar15 sized bolt that handles .308.

it is a bimetal and i did not torture it enough yet - but it works well. very, very nice tactical weapon. barrel is a 1.5-2 moa, though, no miracles there.
