im just looking to throw an inespensive upper on a postban lower...i'm spending more money on a custom upper from wilson combat for my preban lower

since itll be on a postban lower i know i have to remove the flash hider...so the 2nd question is whether or not this brake will fit on it...and i know itll have to be welded or pinned on for legal length

if i get opinions and answers quick enough then i hope to have everything put together by the time the shoot rolls around[smile]

Just an opinion, but I have seen that break on AR15s before and
I think it's pretty ugly. To each their own...The Medieval brake is
also pretty fug but seems to work really well.

On a post-ban, personally I would go brakeless unless you're going to invest
in a brake that does something. Most of the ones I've seen only generate
more noise with little real effect on reducing muzzle climb.

Edit: FWIW, I'd probably put one of those "faux supressors" on before I put a
brake on.... assuming that you're trying to make the OAL of the barrel reach the
legal minimum. Even given that I'd rather have a 16.5" crowned barrel instead.

- Ugly as all hell, but supposed to have some good properties (check ar15.com).
