Any advantage of carrying a revolver as a primary sidearm in 2025?

lololol with the number of haters I have on this forum, if I got doxxed, I'm absolutely sure I'm getting swatted.
You can relax knowing the fact that the bulk of the members here don't actually care that much about you to possibly even / think / about doing anything that retarded. 🤣

It gets difficult to discern if it's trolling or hes legitimately just that stupid, bringing up a mas ayoob glue sniffer topic from like 1996. 🤣

Whoah, wait a minute...

Soo... you're saying someone's actually discussed revolver carry before? Y'don't say...

mind blow wow GIF

The only way a cop is going to know you were carrying a high cap is when they are logging your personal belongings at the hospital or the morgue.
If op really is as stupid as he seems, he'd blert it out before the cop even knew he was carrying.

I think the focus by the OP on how he's somehow less of a target if he carries a revolver is questionable, tho Paul Harrell on YouTube has talked about how when you are charged with something the prosecutor is going to put everything you did or do under scrutiny to try and throw everything at you and a reason he cautions carrying more than one pistol at a time. There may come a time in the near future that carrying a revolver will be better legally if you're put on trial for whatever reason in a defensive shooting.

Say it won't happen, but just look at what Colorado is doing with restrictions on buying semi autos now.

Even those issues aside, there are still benefits to a revolver over other carry pistols.

Exactly. You're never gonna be judged by a jury of 12 NES gun enthusiast peers. Voir dire is gonna get a bench of non gun folks and maybe a fudd. That gun you're carrying better be bone stock if you ever need to use it for defense and the bad guy dies, and not like this:

I would just eat my gun if I ran around predicating every choice I made about defending my life over some ayoobian legal bullshit. f*** that lifestyle, its so gut wrenchingly awful. f*** that noise. forever. I feel sorry for you if you actually live like that.

Further, you're putting the cart before the horse. If you're really interested in avoiding these kinds of problems its much cheaper to focus on the "FRONT OF THE HOUSE " so to
speak. Not doing faggot "Whataboutism" abouot stupid shit ayoob wrote in a magazine 30 years ago.

Avoid doing stupid things in stupid places with stupid people. And living and working in shitty places.

All of that is 1000 times (maybe a couple million) more important than the shit on your gun, or otherwise.

OP mentioned getting SWATed twice. You gonna shoot your way out of it? šŸ˜‚
I got swatted once it was confusing for everybody involved. They brought absolute everybody except for an ambulance. They got firetrucks the board of health f***ing building department a good portion of the force. I don’t know what the hell is going on. I was happy to see them because I thought they were taking care of something else and I wouldn’t have to get involved , but then I realized it was for me.

Last time I’ll ever be happy to see the police
My door is still messed up

The only advantage I can think of is that if it doesn't fire, you just pull the trigger again and you have a new round. Bulky speedloaders are difficult to conceal but the new ones that lay flat in a pouch like a magazine may alleviate that problem.

I don't even know if this is a real thread, but to bring it back to revolvers...

One advantage which people often overlook is the ability to use full bore wadcutters.

While ammo technology has come a long way and we have more reliable JHP which "should" expand and penetrate to FBI preferred levels, it's still no guarantee out of the tiny, short barrel guns.

A revolver doesn't have the feeding concerns a semi does so you can go up the cylinder with flat nose wadcutters. Even only at 710 fps, they'll penetrate deep and cut a full bore hole. Very little recoil and no need to rely on expansion.

Wadcutters are a game changer, they always work the same regardless of velocity so you have repeatable performance when using them while hollow points are more prone to failure. Going too slow? No expansion. Going too fast? Over expansion and under penetration. Going thru barriers? Going thru thick clothing? Wadcutters don't care about any of that.

When I got into reloading I had plans to reload hollow points for the improved effect, but after I thought more about things the lightbulb went off on wadcutters and ever since I've focused on those. I do still like the XTP for .327 and .45 Colt tho.

On the rare occasion that I carry my j-frame airweight, I load it with 148 gr wadcutters for this reason. Recoil is generally pretty tame too with those rounds, so easier and more pleasant to shoot as well.

But you won’t eat your gun. And if you ever use your firearm defensively, you will face all the legal consequences of doing so. To which you will not be prepared. Your logic reminds me of my sister in law, who first f***ed without a condom, then wondered why life sucks so much as a single/absent husband mom. You are still in the f***ing stage, enjoy!

Your best weapon, besides the one between your ears, is a well-laced pair of running shoes.
