Didnt the rifle with the mos for marine core rifleman sell for a good number too?Some years ago Garand rifle with serial number 1,000,000 came up for auction. It was a presentation piece for John Garand. Yeah, THAT John Garand. IIRC, the selling price was in the neighborhood of $300,000.
