Thought I read somewhere you couldn't reload with the berdan primer or maybe that it was more difficult.
The reason I ask is I have 23 boxer primed 7.62x39 brass I was going to give to someone if they reload it.
I know that 303-British and 30-30 use .311" bullets that can be used in both x39 and x54R.
There are also ways to convert brerdan to boxer by drilling a center primer hole.
Only down side to reloading x39 is the bullets are not as cheap as say 223. Not that I have found anyway in. 310 dia.
.
the best i ever got out of my mak 90 or SKS from a suppoted position was with Norma 762x39 stuff is expensive now.i wanted to try loading 7.62x39. i don't want to fool around with berdan primers, you can get boxer primed from starline but it ain't cheap. $92 for 250 pcs. or ~.37 cents each. i just want to see if tailoring a load for my ak is possible in such a way that it would be an eye popping moment. gonna be pricey to start up getting dies, brass, bullets....
what kind of deals you getting on your .310 bullets. Best i was seeing recently was .20 ea for common FMJ 124 . I was getting some bulk 7,62x39 .311s from the old wideners years ago that where PPU I believe even back then they where a little costly at .09-.11 cents eachI load it. You can buy 7.63X39 boxer primed brass and it's just .30cal bullets available everywhere. I usually only shoot the reloads from my AR pistol.
Cheapest I can find is .310" 123 gr FMJs and SPs for $21 per 100.what kind of deals you getting on your .310 bullets. Best i was seeing recently was .20 ea for common FMJ 124 . Good deal. And no they don’t ship to us peons.I can't remember if Graf's sells to MA, but THESE just went on sale for $.16 a pop...123gr soft point for commie hunting.

What evah buddy! It's amazing how many vendors I had memorized when I lived there 7 months ago and have managed to forget already.
I dont know if its a deal or not. Although Im thinking you must have a extra special x39 platform to reload because your really not saving any money or creating anything special with plain old soft points?Good deal. And no they don’t ship to us peons.
