ATF eForm 1 mega thread. Process and approvals!

I’ve got a couple sbrs. Really been thinking of an sbs. Maybe a 14.5 mossberg 590. In mass im aware it has to be factory built and can’t be built by an individual. Anyone go through the process of doing an sbs?

No, it was a former factory LEO SBS, that had the barrel removed and was sold on Gun Broker as a title 1 firearm, no reason a shock wave would not work, or a bare receiver to do the same. I did the form one myself for this along with a few others,

Yes, if you have the 14”. Thats a great way to make an SBS. As stated above a stripped receiver would work, but a 14” shockwave, Tac14, Honcho etc would be the easiest route. Apply for stamp, receive approval and then just add furniture.

Yes, should not be a problem, The form one process is very simple, There is no need to pay some one to do it for you, I did my electronic prints at a UPS store, but have done a few rolling my own with an ink pad also

If you are close enough to the mill have dean do your EFT files for the prints. We have had issues with the UPS stores Kiosk and it took forever for the lady to realize there was a problem. Dean charges less and it’s easy. That said the application is straight forward and there are plenty of video walk throughs on youtube if you need help.

Started life as a Stamford CT Police factory SBS Mossberg 590A1.

Also something to think about, if you have the engraving done on the barrel, it opens up having it done by non FFL’s and if you choose to sell it someday, simply changing the barrel removed all your info

You can buy the fingerprint cards off amazon and do them your self. That's what I did. And since I decided to do an eForm1, I scanned and uploaded my FD-258 fingerprints to my PC and paid for a FD-258 Fingerprint Card to .EFT File Service so I can take that .EFT file of my fingerprints and upload it with my eForm1 on the ATF website.
