Not much info on it yet, not sure of the details:
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., will introduce legislation Thursday morning to reinstate a federal ban on assault weapons, the senator's office announced Wednesday.

The "Assault Weapons Ban of 2013," which centers on banning military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition feeding devices—actions backed by President Barack Obama—will be introduced during a press conference at 11 a.m. Thursday. Feinstein will be joined by a coalition of Democratic lawmakers, law enforcement officers, and representatives from gun safety and gun violence groups, among others.

DOA

The only thing politicians like more than standing on the graves of the dead to pass laws is to get votes and stay on the gravy train.

They remember what happened last time and they won't touch this with a 10ft pole. The Dems don't want to lose the senate next cycle and passing this would almost guarantee it.

If they were going to pass anything it would have been last year during the lame duck sessions.

You guys seem to be missing the big story.

All the action is going to happen at the state level.
The national government can't retroactively "take" guns or magazines. But the states can.

The National government includes the Republican controlled House of Representatives. There is little chance this will get past the house.

The state govenments of MA and CT have both the upper and lower houses controlled by anti-gun democrats.

I agree with you, but I don't think we have been missing the state level story. In fact we have been overloading the server here at times the past couple of weeks.

This.... the dangerous shit is happening in MA and CT. NY was already the most communist state, so what happened there was not really a surprise.

As far as the feds go they can "introduce" it all they want, but it will fail, or at best, get 95% gutted before it hits the floor, and at that point anything that is more than just being a waste of money will be gutted from it.
