NP. What’s the market rate? I don’t have a problem with shops charging a higher price for ammo. I understand they are smaller than the big box stores and probably get second dibs on suppliers because they can’t buy the bulk. I’ve bought ammo at shops with maybe 10-20% higher prices. I don’t have a problem with that. I’m talking about yahoos that think they can charge whatever they want and expect people to just bend over and take it. That’s not capitalism. I call it rape.
I get a laugh out of this moral sanctimony stuff every time it happens. People run around screaming "rape" on gun or ammo prices like as if someone is FORCING them to pay them. People
act like the guys selling the ammo or whatever are trying to sell homeless bums a hamburger for $48 at gunpoint or the guy in the middle of the desert is selling parched travelers a bottle of water for $1000. There's no morality dilemma here, it's a fake one invented by people who didn't prepare.
Let's put it this way. I have a bunch of guns and ammo. I'm not actively selling any of it. I would probably sell some of it if I was offered the right amount of money. Say $1000 for someone that wants a case of 9mm from me. Does that make me a "rapist" because I have determined that I would have to get more than market price to justify even justify even selling it? I also have a 3rd gen Glock in my holster that I wouldn't sell for anything less than 2 grand. It's not "worth" anywhere near that much. However its worth that much TO ME, intrinsically. (for a whole boatload of reasons. ) The only difference between me and the guys you are bitching about is they actually listed their stuff for sale. That's literally it.
The worst thing the flippers are guilty of is perhaps wasting someone's time in looking at their ad. That I can agree on, in that one corner. Just put them on ignore and move on with your life. I hate flipper culture as much as anything, but acting like these people are "bad" because they listed some item for stupid money (and there are nippleheads who actually pay it!) is facially absurd. It makes no sense.
@Rob Boudrie put it well in another thread... it suddenly isn't rape when you go to sell your house when the market is hot and you figure out you can EASILY grab another 30 grand out of the buyer because of market conditions. Somehow, THAT suddenly isn't rape..... and EVERYBODY f***ing does that.......
but someone pricing ammo at a stupid price or slightly above market is this awful moral offense or something. I don't get it. You can't have it both ways. Unless you're going to sit here and tell the class that you're going to sell your house for less money than you could easily obtain otherwise.... and take a hit, because you thought it was too expensive.
