Concealed carry weapon in MA riddle

Anyone weigh in on the LC9? It's about the same size as a Kahr PM9.
I have an LC9 with a Crimson Trace laser. The laser comes on when gripped.
Nice setup and it fits well concealed in a heavy duty leather holster inside the waistband at 4 o'clock on me. I'm tall and skinny.
Holster from the Holster Store. Get the slide guard option.

Great ideas - appreciate it. I am on vacation in AZ and had the opportunity to go to a range. Night and day difference between free state triggers and Ma.

If your not concerned with pocket carry, and plan on IWB carry, consider the P9. Fits the hand much better than the PM9, and is a breeze to shoot.

Came for the caliber wars, stayed to +1 the j-frame suggestion. I'm a Ruger man myself, and prefer the LCR or one of the all-steel SP-101's, but really it's just semantics.

Not sure why the LC9 gets so much flack. I have about 1000 rounds through mine. The only problem I even had was the rear sight got loose. An allen wrench cured that. I will admit that the trigger travel is much longer than I would like.

S&W 3913 is also an option, it's a little heavier but flat, reliable, affordable and generally easy to find. The super short trigger reset is a nice plus also. Conceales nicely in a Supertuck.

Just started carrying a Springfield XDS, and it's freaking amazing. Great trigger (mine pulls at #4.5), factory fiber optic front sight, 5+1 of 45ACP (7+1 with the extended mag), 21.5oz and only 1" wide. I put my first 200 rounds through it tonight, and it ate everything without a hiccup.

Challenging to find in MA, but worth the hunt.

Otherwise, it's the only reason I'd give up my lightweight Colt 1911 (currently for sale: http://www.northeastshooters.com/vb...-Custom-Colt-Defender-(Officer-3-quot-)-1911)

Also, a J frame is always a great choice.

So, I am trying to identify a carry gun in Ma based on the following criteria:

Trigger doesn't require paying someone to fix
Can conceal all year round with minor modifications to clothing only
Caliber that you feel is sufficient to defend yourself
Track record of reliability
Under 24oz. loaded

Appreciate the help.
Baby Glock. Done.

my glock 19 with 15+1 is exactly 30.4oz, not exactly a featherweight. I did my own trigger job with a ghost rocket and it is slickkk

plentyof.guns out there that are just as good as the glock for less cake.

Why do people insist on being cheap when it comes to a carry gun? We're not talking about some plinker you bring to the range on Sunday morning. This is something you'll carry with you every day of your life, you'll put thousands of rounds through it in training, and one of those days could save your life. For something that important, why would you cut corners to save a few bucks?

I took the comment to mean more that you pay a premium for a glock in ma compared to the cost everyone else pays in other states and in that context are there other equals.
Funny to see new Glocks in ct and nh gun shops for $500 and the same new Glocks for sale on these forums for $750. I would love to get a g19 or g26 gen 4 but not at that premium.

Yeah.. Go Glock and be done with it. The subcompact 26/27 is only 26oz loaded, which is honestly light enough. I am assuming reliability is important as it is on your list, so go with what is the most reliable.

Don't listen to the haters

This is exactly my point. So what if there is a premium in MA? It's $150. That's a half dozen boxes of ammo. What does it matter what the price is elsewhere? It's just the way it is in MA. I'd pay TWICE that if I had to for the tool I'm going to stake my LIFE on.

You pay a premium in Massachusetts for a lot of things: gas, housing, fresh produce. It's just the way things are. But I don't refuse to fill up my gas tank because gas is only $3 in Florida, or deny my family fresh produce because it costs half as much in California.

In the grand scheme of things, $750 (which is not necessarily the price of a GLOCK in MA, current silliness aside) is not an unfair price for a tool you're going to use every day, that's going to be drop dead reliable and that will last you forever.
