I have a poverty pony build with a nice BCG and barrel. Took it to a class once - easily the cheapest/crappiest rifle there - I was the only one without a failure that day, and smoked all the guys there with far more expensive toys. Went 4k without cleaning it and still ran like a top.That's a price that even I can afford.
My class build poverty pony will eat anything but steel rounds.
Dunno why, just doesn't like wolf.

There is part of me that wants to make a 100% cheapest possible build. I mean, I am oddly fascinated by the idea of a theme build along the lines of:
"holy sh*t is that thing even made of metal?"
"did you do those roll marks yourself?
"actually, I straightened the barrel myself"
etc...

Damn. I swore Andy sold out when he moved. Maybe he made holsters before and now slings???
IIRC, he's been making slings the whole time. Looks like no holsters anymore which is too bad, but I understand the need to focus on items that are more standard. Bet he's still do a belt if asked, though.
I think when he slowed down, he kept making the slings as that was his money maker. Nice slings BTW. Someone had one at a MRGCi shoot.
I have a $1200 rifle with light/IT, NV scope and a knock off peq15.
You can make crazy rifles for dirt cheap right now. Stack 'em deep.

Makes sense. Honestly I have several Gucci models that I rarely shoot these days because it just isn't where my interest is. Sometimes I think I like building them more than shooting them.
