Deer Tallow Soap

Is there much fat on a deer????

One can make all sorts of explosives using simple household ingredients if one were so inclined.

The guy's knife is VERY sharp, but I can't help thinking a good boning knife would have been better. The height of his blade made his work harder. And length worked against him as well.

then after he renders it. . . . BONING KNIFE! LOL

Overall - I'll pass. Damn. Interesting, but damn.

Like Sparkey said; depends on the deer and where you are at in the season. During the rut bucks run off a lot of fat.

A good sharp boning knife would have been better for sure.

I have often though about making suet blocks out of the deer fat and using the caul fat it never seem to get around to doing it.
