Emergency Preamble to be signed Weds?

Having inquired a number of years ago about recall petitions to remove elected officials, I learned that MA has no enabling legislation to allow for a recall petition. Thus, Herr Healey can't be removed by creating a petition. She's there until she loses an election or more likely she moves on to higher office!

Sad but true.

Can be done through a Citizen-Intiated Constitutional amendment. Massachusetts sets the lowest bar in the Union, requirement amendment supporters to obtain signatures equal to 3 percent of the votes cast in the last gubernatorial election.

However, the legilature can refuse to take up an amendment during one of its next two sessions (or the amendment can fail to get 25% approval during those sessions), thus strangling it in its crib.

How about a petition to add the ability to recall/remove elected officials?
