Thanks! Yes, I found out that it was made in April of 1942.

Dumb question.. how did you do that? I found out when mine was made AFTER, just not the exact date.

I checked here: http://www.fulton-armory.com/tea/m1serial.htm My serial number is between the March '42 "end" and the April '42 "end".

I'm not sure, I think his handheld computer told him, though. When he scanned the package it gave an audible series of beeps that sounded like a warning, then his face dropped and he immediately launched into "you can't get rifles shipped..."
