Guess:
Aimpoint will make a bunch of optics that direct mount to all Glock MOS handguns. They will announce it at SHOT.

WTF is the holdup with this shit? Should have been done forever ago.
The leading global manufacturer of pistols and the pioneer of red dot sights delivers an exclusive package: the GLOCK Pistol with Aimpoint COA™ Combo. The exclusive package features select GLOCK pistols with A-CUT™ Interface and the ultra-compact Aimpoint COA optic installed. The direct mounting enables a deep setting for extreme stability and durability.
I wish someone would just figure out some sort of heads-up display-style sight for pistols that doesn't require a giant encased box on top of the slide. There has to be a sleeker solution. These TV sets feel like the kind of thing we're all going to be looking back and laughing at 20 years from now.
Holograms projected on air, like in Minority Report?
With proper installation, thread lock, and paint pen markings, its a non-issue. I beat the absolute piss out of my RMR and SRO which use smaller screws and I've never had one come loose. For me spending $1100 on a Glock and only being able to mount a COA on it is kind of silly. Maybe they are hoping for some big .gov contracts where both companies are locked in because of proprietary parts.View attachment 952082

Hold up... I like how it mounts in the front... But what's going on in the rear? You have to screw down the rear iron sight and it holds the optic in place?? So if the screws loosen, you lose both the optic and the BUIS?
But what's the advantage over just putting screws into the optic, like everyone else? Why would I want to deal with a proprietary footprint, proprietary rear sight mount, and the risk of losing BUIS if the optic mount fails? With proper installation, thread lock, and paint pen markings, its a non-issue. I don't remember the exact numbers but for me it was something like $525 for a G19, $330 for a Holosun EPS, $160 to get the slide milled and finished, OEM sights give a 1/5th cowitness. So ~$150 less than the MSRP on this Aimpoint collaboration but I got to pick and choose my setup. To each his own. What is the cost now for MOS+Quality aftermarket plate+Enclosed Optic? Or Non MOS + Cut with Coating + Enclosed Optic? Will you need taller sights too?
is a cubical optical shit alone above priced at $1165 or the whole thing?
Yep, so realistically this new package will eventually sell for below what you got your non-MRS EPS setup for. Plus factory coating, and lower sitting optic. If all works well - good option to have.I don't remember the exact numbers but for me it was something like $525 for a G19, $330 for a Holosun EPS, $160 to get the slide milled and finished, OEM sights give a 1/5th cowitness. it is not even a sarcasm, as, who knows, everything possible no matter how retartedly stupid it may be.
Yeah But it's still a GLOCK!!!!!
