Gold and silver prices are down

Is there a good Android app to check silver and gold prices? Something pretty basic, but says what needs to be said without having to click or scroll much?
Thanks in advance.

On an iPhone, I use “Gold Live!” from Kitco. No scrolling or clicking needed once you open the app. I’d expect the Android version to be the same.

This is pretty handy one-screen overview of major markets and commodities. Click through an icon to get a basic trend and click the icon again for additional charting.

It’s looking like we won’t have an all new record yearly gain. In 2007 we closed off the year with a 31% gain. In 2010 we closed off with a 30% gain. We need to beat that 2010 high to setup the next leg higher. It appears a stock market selloff is needed for this to happen.

For now it’s still following the stock market and inflation.

Looking into my Magic 8 Ball I still feel that we’re only finishing the first year of a 5-6 year gold bull. Not out of the realm of possibilities that gold tickles $7-8K by 2028-29 (election?) and then stalls out and consolidates around $5K for several years.

What are silver prices right now, is it a good time to buy?
School me a little
Spot is $30.01 as we speak. March futures are $30.72. Contango.

Silver has some serious upside potential for 2025 and your timeframe is important if investing. I bought a boatload at $21. 2011 high was $50. We will breech that easily in this 2-3 year cycle and beyond imho.

You can buy it from brick and mortar precious metal dealers, Ebay, online vendors like APmex, Scottsdale Mint, etc. @richc will vouch for Costco but they sell out fast.

I’ve bought from Ebay, Apmex, and even Walmart(who sources third party from retailers of precious metals).

For selling you would use Ebay, APmex, local precious metal dealers, or face to face with friends like NES.

Question for Silver Eagle Experts.

I have 4 Silver Eagles sitting in front of me. All 4 2021. All from the same dealer who is a large coin dealer and well known. Of course the 4 Eagles are type 1.

3 of them do not have the security notch at 6 O'clock and the 2021 date is the smaller font with the zero being oval.

1 has the security notch at 6 O'clock and the 2021 date is the newer, bit larger font with the zero being round.

Again, same dealer.

Is it possible that the early 21 Silver Eagles did not have the security notch and still had the smaller date font?

The Internet is not helpful as many say it's not possible with many saying it is possible as the changes were implemented around June of 21.

The coins weigh the same and measure the same. Nothing about them jumps out other than the above mentioned.

Thanks

@HappyHarry will have the answer

My understanding is that all 2021 eagles have the notch. I really don't take notice of the notches, I Sigma test any that I'm unsure of.
Well, I was wrong. I just looked at a type 1 vs type 2 2021 silver eagle and the type 1 does not have the notch. The date size and font are also different.
The photos are of proof coins. The screen shot is from MONEX's web site.

Thank you for all your help, I purchased 24 Oz of silver today, bar/coin mix. Was able to get it thru a local PM dealer for just under 33./oz which I thought was pretty fair.
My new addiction begins!

Thank you for looking into that. I have only looked at a few of my Eagles. I will say again the 4 I have on the table are all type I. 3 do not have the notch and have the smaller font with the oval zero and the 4th one has the notch and the larger font with the zero being a zero. All 4 of these Eagles came from Pinehurst and are still in their Pinehurst sleeves. All 4 meet the spec for dia, wgt and thickness.

Cool, a precious metal verifier is an easy grand and is out of my budget.

BTW, I have been told that those named Harry are sharper than your average Bear but who knows......:)

Your best bet is finding a local source - one who is honest and trustworthy but also one who won't charge you tax which can very rapidly eat into any future gains you realize.
24 oz at $33/oz is just under 800 bucks. Add 6.25% on top of that, and you just paid $35 an ounce instead of $33. It makes a difference.

For folks in MA, some purchases of metals over $1000 are the sales tax exempt, but make sure before you complete the buy.
