Good day to hit the Range

Took the rifle out to zero Sunday morning and found I had somehow gained 16 moa of elevation at 100. Didn’t think much of it and got some acceptable groups for resting on an ammo box and not a lot of practice.

Got home and looked at the rifle before putting it back in the safe…
Turns out one of the mlok screws from my foregrip was right into the bottom of the gas block.
Guess I didn’t realize when I was reassembling after swapping rails.

🙃

While no trip to the range is a waste, I’m bummed I was so oblivious and spent rounds the way I did.

I think weve all done that at somepoint . Good learning experience though

you’re not the only one but one of the few showing pictures of it.

I’ve found that when I shoot slow, I tend to pull them too
That's my terrible trigger pull rearing its head again. The faster I try to shoot, the more pronounced it gets.

Experts, what happened here?

Zeroing a 10/22 today and last round exploded rearwards into receiver blowing out magazine, extractor and its retention spring! Casing without base left in barrel. The bullet was sent down range and barrel was clear. This happened around 80 rounds after a takedown, cleaning, reassembly.

Should this be in the Bad Day to Hit the Range thread? ;)

Out of battery firing. The round wasn't seated all the way you fired it it kind of blew up in the action this is a common trope with 22LR guns

from Sunday, a great day out with no one else at the range during my time there. the log book showed earlier was busy. practicing at 15 yards working on group sizes and remembering fundamentals. looking to increase speed but slow is smooth, & smooth (is fast) will become fast...
took two guns that were not mine to the range and some cci SV. two buddies loaned me a gun respectively, a Ruger mark 2 target and a SW victory. I am looking at adding a new target 22 and a couple pals were gracious enough to let me try out their guns. 22 is fun when it hits the plates, even though they dont fall down!

mix of some 9mm as well from the new Canik on the appleseed target and used the scoring section as another makeshift aim area.
