Good day to hit the Range

Shot an IDPA match Saturday. One stage was a "Bill Drill". Two targets, six feet inner edge to inner edge, shooting box 7 yards from targets. Limited/Virginia; 7 rounds in first mag, division capacity in rest. 6 rounds into T1, mandatory reload, 6 rounds into T2.

7.71 seconds raw time, down one, final time 8.71.

Need to work on my reload.

Trying to switch up my grip, see if I can manage recoil better. Pushed my support hand a little higher than I had been. I think it sorta worked, but I did notice a couple of low shots where I obviously recoil-flinched before the shot.

I shoot rifles lefty , I don't bother with looking for ones made for left-handed shooters. I do everything else right handed , just can't shoot a rifle right handed.

I'm left eye dominant so I shoot long guns lefty. Right handed otherwise. I shot right handed rifles for ever.. but in my mid 50's and decided that I'm done shooting right handed rifles and have been getting new lefty guns.

Lefties rock! Trying to get my boy to be like his mommy and daddy!!

Been meaning to do a lot more of this during June and July but projects got in the way. Hunting practice. 400 meters today, or 440 yards give or take. Good breeze about fifteen mph or so but it was mostly diagonal, so it only pushed things about four inches to the right. Shooting prone. Managed to keep ten shots all in the six inch circle. Height wise they were all within an inch. Horizontal, about a five inch span. I can live with that given the conditions. I'm getting better at working with the wind.

And I got my reloads pretty much shooting identical to my hunting bullets!
