I guess I like to buy dumb but fun things

At the Monadnack shoots we shook up the soda cans before we fired them. I was a pretty good shot with that!
Hit the car hood 90% of the time.

Pretty cool … but this shoots golf balls further … max charge 400-grains of black powdah and being a breech loader, and not a ‘muzzleloader’, it is not classified as a cannon in Mass!

The manufacturer also makes ones that shoots billiard ‘pool’ balls, but those are expen$ive! Used golf balls are cheaper!

So, if it's not a cannon in MA, what is it? A rifle?

Yes , I've had one of these for several years. You always want to shake up your soda can to pressurize it to help it withstand the acceleration of firing, else you'll have some cans explode as they leave the barrel. I mounted a M203 grenade launcher sight on mine. It helps with your accuracy, though I had to recalibrate the yardage markings. See my post in "What did you do to your firearm today" thread: What did you do to your firearm today.

In the good old days X-Products was also a great source for .50 BMG ammo. I got all of my .50 API from them.

I’ve built one those when I was a kid in the 80s.
Squirt in some lighter fluid, give it a good shake, jam in the tennis ball, and stick a match in the hole in the bottom. WHOOSH/THUMP.

I nearly got kicked out of college for launching an apple at a neighboring dorm for that. It was just before Christmas and the Chief of campus security was in a good mood [rofl]

If there is anyone interested in building there own soda can/tennis ball launcher.
2-3/4 inch tail pipe (available in 10 foot sections) has an ID of 2-5/8 inch. Which is a perfect diameter for soda cans and tennis balls.
